NEVER EVER should a Highland Pipe Band playing Black Bear be accompanied by any sort of brass like that. It sounded awful with the HONK HONK from the brass.
Mate, “the Black Bear”, played at return to barracks. You Yanks need to give it away. The brass band just stuffed up the pipe band. Leave good piping to the Scots Guards. Grüße aus Australien.
@@FFEMTB08 mate, I played in a highland pipe band in my younger days so I know about what I speak. Yes, I'm across "Trooping the Colour" and I'm looking forward to visiting Scotland in 2023 to listen to Scottish airs being played exceptionally well. I learned a few years back in Dundee we were playing football in the city Square 30 people were watching the other side of the square 2.000 watching the dancers on stage 😆 lol beautiful 🕺 loved highland laddie played twice over ❤ even at the world 🌎 championship hail to the chieftain only gets played over once ❤❤
I am assuming that the young men we see performing here are young enlistees who are serving as active duty / full-time soldiers in the Scots Guard or in other Highland Regiments. Question: How are these troops recruited or "tapped" to perform in the capacity we see here as Pipers, Drummers and Dancers?? Were they musicians & dancers before they joined... or were they recruited or volunteered once they had served in the Regiments?? If so... what is the required criteria??

Scots Guards Standard Settings. Spendy books, but enough material in there to keep you in new tunez for decadez. Don't know for sure, but might be in Vol. 1. Clumsy Lover is much older than Itchy Fingers, which is Vol. 3.
