I know why the 97 was needed (ERTMS/ETCS), but why was the actual 37 still needed as well? Do they like it so much they just wanted to bring it, or...?
The Class 197 are to replace the Class 170 and Class 175. With the Class 170 cascaded to East Midlands Railway and the Class 175 to be stored unless TfW are keeping the Class 175.
We Need more of these. Think how many Articulated Lorries that Train has taken off that Wonderful Road. Bad enough with Caravans and bloody tourists. That road is for Fast Bikes 👍👍
Nice one mate. I saw it at Welshpool 20min earlier. Its down at Machynlleth for tests. 97304 came back early hours Monday morning,, not sure about 37601 and all its Barrier Vehicles. Nice vid mate. A rare catch . 👍😎😀
Day out for rail officials. The inspection saloon can only do visual inspection and no gauging. If gauging needed doing, they would send a test train (bright yellow NR coaches) in the middle of the night.

A Highland rail 37 on the Cambrian,, things are looking up. 97 looked very smart too, with its white walls and red springs. Caroline is a rare treat too. 👍😎
