@@StuWNZ We came from Tinopai, we have friends are in Oakura - awesome fishing up there. Maybe we bump into each other here. There’s so much I need to learn about sea and rivers here, and have to retrain from old fishing methods / habits.
yeah i was casting out beyond the rocks with the bigger weights but the sabiki I was just giving a it a flick and getting caught up. I'm hoping to get some Moki there in the summer. thanks for watching.
From a boaties perspective the ocean looks calm. Swell is about 2 meters, big, but no sea (wave on top of swell). No breaking waves outside shore break. No good for fishing. Get out of there to better ground.
Thanks for that and will look forward to what it looks like from the north side. I fished from the south this season but it doesn’t look all that inviting at the moment. Ps is there an episode that I have missed regarding the scuba-diving car?
Thanks for watching. The Nevis road goes from Bannockburn near Cromwell to Garston past the bottom of Lake Wakatipu. The only Ben Nevis I know is near Porters Pass near Christchurch. Apart from Ben Nevis in Scotland of course! Its an awesome trip through there. We took 3.5 hours stopping for lunch and having a look about some of the mining stuff.
Bin there done that, some of those water crossings further on got a bit deep in spots, tried to circumvent a few of them, after all get water in your air box and it's an awful long way to push a bike out! Like you I think the push bikes in stuff like that is getting beyond keen and bordering on madness! Pretty nice scenery though a.
@@StuWNZ Turn the microphone off, and do a voice over. Is the only 100% effective way I found to make it work. And please, don't use background music, there are music video clips out there, me (and others too I assume) come here for your opinion, not to listen to music.
@zefautino Hi thanks for watching- and commenting. Some positive criticism is always welcome. I am slowly building up my assets and learning more about making videos. I want to spend more time filming and editing. On the bike it can be hard to break up the ride by setting cameras up and doing things 3 times but really to get the B-roll I need and get better A-roll I have to make it happen. Doing a certain amount of voice over can be beneficial along with some music in parts. Working on that. Fishing is slightly easier but I am up against the tide and temperamental fish! Thanks again. 😊
Very good video. Came from AUS and did it Christmas eve 2022, Everyone else seemed to have better things to do and there was not another soul on the road and I was by myself, A bit tricky!!. Most of the crossings were gravel but i hit a slippery muddy hole and got dumped. As i was climbing up to Duffers Saddle, I was in the clouds - wet and misty. It was one of those rides that you want to do before you die. i was 76.
😀 yes people have been throwing stones down this hole for decades! No doubt its a bit shallower than it was. Probably rockfalls in the shaft, run off from rain washing dirt in will all eventually fill it back to the top!
@JosephBoxmeyer yes i got that. Happy to have the piss taken! I thought today maybe I should have ridden my bike over it but I'd say my 257kg Super Tenere would have made it even shallower!
@user-rz7tp7rc4f in the canals you can use all methods. The fish and game fishing regulations guide has all the information about all the fisheries in it. You get one with your fishing license or can down load it online.
I've googled the falling speed of rocks and I reckon this shaft is about 150m deep. Could be miles out. Any maths buffs that can shed some light on the issue?
Hi Stu, is there a campground with toilets there? Was thinking of taking my daughter for a overnight camp there, went to Lake Camp about a month ago and it was so overcrowded and the lake was full of jet boats, not the most peaceful weekend, thanks for the vids btw
Thanks for watching, there is a small campground near the lake head but I'm not sure who owns it, I'll look into it. Also there is a nice new longdrop at the carport. Pretty sure you can free camp all around there. Another option would be to walk to Double hut for a night.
