I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ru-vid.comUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.

really hard to watch and listen when theres music playing talk or have music cant do both. on a happyier note just got these rods after getting hands on today and have to say they are a master piece now some how the 12fts outcast my old 13fts dont no why maybe a better transfer but defo longer and shimanos are no slouch so impressed looking forward to many hours of fishing

Hi I’ve just bought the 10” hi-s feeder and payed a lot of money for it not to get my rod bands with the rod, I’m really sad about as everything about the Rod is great it’s a prized rod a monks my collection I’m just really upset that I didn’t get the bands as it said in the purchase it will come in the pouch and I’ll be given bands. I fished this this place last Friday and Saturday. Was amazing place to fish. Beautiful lakes and very friendly staff. I beat my personal best weight with a lovely Ghost Carp which was my first fish out the lake. I've been after a personal best for the last 12 year's. My son told me we should try here as he lives in Bournemouth so booked an overnight 24 hour session. I traveled from Wakefield west Yorkshire and can honestly say it was well worth it. A massive thumbs up from me and a personal best. Plus on my new bait runner reels 👍👍👍👍👍

Wish you filmed more of these vids ,great anglers fishing some stunning venues with obviously terrific rods,brought my old ex’s out of retirement and I still think they are some of the best rods for all round angling ever made
