Seems like there is a massive physics change compare to PS2 version... SOLARE in PS2 version has a massive decceleration during drifting even using Silent Drift technique(SD drift, the same technique used in PS1 Ridge Racer)and the acceleration in PS2 version is quite slow. In Arcade version seems like this car is insanely buffed,it has decent acceleration(which actually allows to stay on top gear constantly) and the car will no longer tuck inside the corner during drifting like how PS2 version did,but mostly there will be no insane decceleration during dtifting even if SD drift is used. But thing is in PS2 version the E.O is too overpowered, was it the same in AC version or it actually re-adjusted all car's perfomance in AC version?
With so much crap that has been released nowadays, people have been regretting badmouthing old games, especially Ridge Racer V, which today is worshiped compared to the time of release, which was considered weak by players and journalists. Also this is the last good Arcade Racing game that is still not emulated. Thank you for making this video.
@@mopeybloke i am talking about the Arcade version, still not emulated. I always play the Console version on PCSX2, its nearly perfect now on Hardware mode using Vulkan renderer.
Could you imagine if Bandai Namco released a collection of the games that were playable on the Namco System 246/256 for console and Steam? It'd be nice to be able to play the last Ridge Racer released for the arcades in the comfort of your own home or on the go.
Considering how wonky the Solare's handling is, you make it look so easy to maintain full control of the car at its top speed. Nice job setting a new lap record for the course, by the way.
Actually, the handling is unstable because the reaction force of the handle is broken. The video of Park Town is a play with a handle with a normal reaction force.
It feels amazing to finally see footage of this arcade game in high definition. Just curious, do you plan on sharing gameplay of Grand Prix the next time you're able to play in the arcades?
@@Leedleleedle101 Unfortunately that request is not possible. Because it is fixed with 1P side red and 2P side blue, and 2P side cannot play because of accelerator failure.
Hello!! FIGHTERS CHOICE Arcade To run Ridge Racer V on System246, you need Ridge Racer Arcade Battle CD media and a PS2 memory card with the security dongle image file installed.
