I am seeing it on sale right now and it looks really nice I want I’m curious how firm is the frame itself will it sag and what is it like underneath the cushion is it solid my sofas now I hate they have spring in the cushion and they started to deform and it so uncomfortable
I have the Thomasville Lowell and I hate that I can feel the wooden bars of the frame under the seat cushions. It’s son uncormfortable to lay down. Does the sereen have this issue or is there more padding under the seat cushions?
@@Chaoswithmycoffee amazing! Thank you so much for letting me know! I ordered this couch after watching your couch buying journey!! I was considering the thomasville Lowell couch too, but decided to go with this one bc you ended up returning the Lowell couch! Haha
Great review. I need a couch and am considering this one from Costco, however, there are a few reviews that mention strong chemical smell. Did you experience any smell with your couch? Thanks
@@PainKillerJane the couch cushions do unzip. I haven’t washed mine, and am not positive if you can. I don’t believe I saw that specifically called out in the Costco link + info.
@@Bea-j2y everyone’s definition of this probably is based how they would sit on the couch. If you’re a super straight up sitter, you probably wouldn’t like this couch or others in this style. They have oversized (deep) seats, where I’d imagine you’re not sitting perfectly straight up. I find myself with my legs out, pillows behind me, or crisscross etc. You can definitely sit straight and there are lots of pillows to support your back, and I’ve hated most couches because I didn’t feel supported. But I do with this one. I hope this helps.
I agree with you about pressing a button to trigger it. I have a hatch for my baby and I set automatic routines for him. Wondering why they didn’t add this feature
I agree that it’s expensive, but I could deal with a higher price. For me it’s the subscription price that is holding me back from purchasing one; it’s just outrageous. However, I do really like everything else about it. Even the turn-on sleep button features, because my bedtime varies. I do understand why it would irritate those with a regular schedule though.
I got the thomasville in 2014. 8 piece. Lasted about a year before the non serviceable foam cushion edges started breaking down and exposed the hard wood underneath. It’s now 2024 and I still have that couch. I have to be careful sitting down or I’ll just land right on the wood edge l have to put pillows under me and the couch pieces slide all over the place even when connected. I will say the fabric held up great. No stains or tears. Been on my own journey researching countless couches from different companies over the years. Finally pulled the trigger on this one last night to be delivered. It’s going to be bigger about 20 inches deeper towards the tv but I’ll make it work. The thomasville is about 143 inches. This is 135.
I had a Thomasville and am returning it so I can buy this one!! how do you keep Sereen clean and not get stinky or stained/dingy! I wanted to get a couch removable covers to wash. I just love the feather foam combo!
Same questions here. I always love the washable covers. I think I’m going to just put some nice covers over it.. for the usual wear and tear.. and take it off when I feel the need to actually see it. 😂 I have two boys close in age so I need protection.. idk we shall see!
I just tested this yesterday at Ashley and I thought it was really nice. It felt really good when I was sitting on it. Very comfy. In the long run I'm really happy that I ordered the Serene and will update after I receive it. Thanks again:)
Thanks for the great update on your new couch! I am so excited, I ordered mine last night and I will have it in 3 days!! Yay!! Super happy I found your video when I was doing my search! :)
@@ayanakamura0428 I did not scotch guard it. I have not had good luck finding the cans, and if I did they were really expensive. Holding up to dog hair great. It doesn’t look dirty or show (at least ours) hair easily.
Thank you for the review!!! Exactly what I’ve been looking for. I had the Henderon white sectional and they move so much. The cushions toppled over all the time. Do these connect to each other? I know you mentioned that they are heavy and not move much. I just ordered them hopefully they will be better.
@@Chaoswithmycoffee it’s the Henredon Murphy Fabric Modular Sectional with Ottoman 1695539. I would say it looked great very modern and clean cut. But with two kids the sectional is always a mess and I can’t take it. It’s slides constantly and because the arm and the back are so high, the cushions never stayed in place. For the look I give it 10/10, for practicality is prob like a 4/10.
@@Chaoswithmycoffee it’s not as comfortable as I thought, the fabric is very durable and soft. But the back is too high and it’s not as deep. I got my Sereen today, it’s too big for our space 😩. Looked really bulky and the cushions are all over the place. It is soooooooo comfortable and I love the way it feels but I don’t know how to make it work
@@wentworthmiller6 oh no!! Can you split up the configurations and made separate seating areas? Or try to change how you have it configured as one piece?
Thank you for this review! I have the Lowell and it's good, but I'm not sure if I'm in love. Some of our heavily used cushions get lumpy and dog hair sticks to it like crazy. Have you had these (or any other) issues with the Sereeen?
Dear Furniture Fairy! This is the EXACT video I needed to make our decision! We were SO CLOSE to pulling the trigger on the Jonathan Louis and am SO GLAD I stumbled on your video!! Will be ordering from Costco stat! Is your link in the description affiliated so you can get some credit!
What's the frame made of? That's the first question I ask when it comes to furniture because that's the life of the piece. Otherwise, great video. Appreciate you posting it!
@@Chaoswithmycoffee Watch out for that sort of thing... "engineered wood", "wood", and "hardwood" are all different in the furniture world! It's super hard to find good furniture at a reasonable price these days. :(
Thank you for your review. It was very helpful. I'm considering purchasing this. However, I read a review on the Costco site that states the odor was extremely strong and they had to fumigate their home. What is your experience with chemical fumes/odor from the couch?
@@LeadMeEverlastingthank you for your response. I purchased it but ended up returning it. Mine had a very strong gas off odor that lingered and one of the feet was damaged. Also, I mainly purchased it because it was green guard gold-certified, however found out afterwards that it has a prop 65 warning and formaldehyde in it. Warning label is on bottom of furniture. Unfortunately, the warning was not posted on the Costco product page like their other products have.
Is this one larger or smaller than the Thomasville Lowell 8 piece? The only thing I like about lowell is the two ottomans. This only has one, too bad you cant get two.
Honestly it’s very close. Both couches are modular so it really depends how you configure them. The seat heights are comparable. Thomsaville’s seat height was 20.5”, the Sereen is 20”. The depths are about the same. Thomsaville is 42"D and Sereen is 43.4" D The ottomans are about the same size. Thomasville is 42" x 42" and the Sereen is 43.3” x 43.3”. I also wished I could order an additional ottoman for this couch 🤣
This is beautiful! i have the Thomasville for 2 years and hated it. finally sold it and got a sectional at rooms to go but wish i got this lol. it's beautiful! glad you found a couch you love!!!
I’m so sorry you had to stick it out with the Thomasville for 2 years! If this ever comes in stock in your area you won’t regret this one! It’s night and day when compared to the Thomasville.
How is it now after a few months? I was deciding between this an the Henredon from Costco. Is cleaning with pets/kids still a breeze? I'm just waiting for it to come back in stock in my area and excited!
It’s holding up great! Ironically the other there somehow my son got a big black stain on it, I think it was soot from a candle? I used a little folex amzn.to/3K8fqPh and you’d never know it happened!
Dimension and other info is in the video description. I’m pasting the dimensions below 135.4" L x 135.4" W x 31.4" H Weight: 503.7 lb Weight Capacity Per Seat: 300 lb Additional Dimensions: Seat height is 20" H Arm height from floor is 23.6" H If you want the link to couch in Costco that’s in the description as well 😉
@@ChaoswithmycoffeeThanks for the quick response! The 135x135 is for the 2 cushions on each side of the corner. I was hoping you could let me know how it measures with the 3 cushions and 1 cushion on the side of the corner. I also reached out to the manufacturer and haven't heard back.
@@travisb.1128 I'm not sure if the manufacturer has responded to you yet but you'd be taking one armless chair width from the width and adding it to the length of the couch. So taking away 46" from the width would leave you with 89.4" and adding it to the length of the couch would give you 181.4".. so 181.4" L x 89.4" W x 31.4" H
I have been on my sofa journey since Covid. Thank you for making these Costco furniture videos which is a great help to many on the same road. I bought the Thomasville Ezra Fabric Sectional with Ottoman / Item 1558103 and love it but due for a return since they delivered it in the pouring rain staining the fabric which I cannot get out. The Ezra is firm which holds it's shape, but the cuddler will get dippy. I was looking at the Lowell and from your review saw your issues. As far as the Sereen, how does it sit, how is the firmness, and do you have any back issues from sitting? How supportive are the back pillows while watching a movie?
It’s worlds better than the Lowell. It’s soft but still supportive. I don’t feel any dipping and had issues with other couches doing it. There’s a lot of pillows for extra support too which I like if you need more.
Very informative review that pretty much answered any question I had about this sectional. Since I can’t get to see it, it has helped me make a decision on this
Been looking for a video on this Aiden & Ivy couch we bought our recliner sectional from Costco online and the return process was so stress free I don’t think I’ll buy from anywhere else but now just waiting for this one to come back in stock.
