One match I forgot is Zurab Tavberidze vs. Petro Marharint. I think Petro can beat quite a few guys that Zurab might lose to, bc he’s WAY better vs toprollers (for example I’d heavily favor Nugo over Zurab, and Petro beat Nugo). But Zurab might be a hard style matchup for him since Petro pretty much always hooks. I’ll still pick Petro just bc we don’t know if Zurab is as good as he used to be, but I’ll assume he’s feeling pretty good and say Petro wins 3-2.
This was such a great meet for me! Unfortunately I hurt my leg doing strides the day before Hopkins and had to skip Hopkins. And also missed the 3k the following week. I never got a chance to run a 3k time trial again 😕
This seems like a whole different lifetime ago!!!! This was one of the funnest track meets ever. It was my only time at the facility too and the facility was BEAUTIFUL and the weather was PERFECT this day.
Schoolboy beats Bowen Lachlan beats Paul Krasi got back on the sauce he is going to be next level for awhile Revaz should beat georgi after seeing revaz fall apart and break his own hand I lost a little faith in him Michael should win huge favorite I also like Lars style though. Ongarbaev should beat Oleg morozov should beat Ivan unless Ivan sneaks those hits straight to the pad I like kamils style I think it comes down to if kamil can slip or not vitalys grip may be too strong. If there’s an injury today it will happen in the vitally kamil match
Nice pics! They were almost identical to mine…. I wanna see Linn vs. Krasi again now. I agree w what you said about Krasi, but idk now. Paul beat Lachlan easier than Krasi did…. Kinda weird imo!!! U think Linn would beat Brzenk now? Say in a 105kg match.
@@HandelandJ yeah after seeing what i saw today im a linn convert i bet linn does beat john today both at 230. Linn would have decimated at the 220 round robin today as well.
@@HandelandJ i think we are picking based off what weve seen in recent history so it should be fairly similar but damn did i have a bad day with picks. I sent you a dm on Facebook about it
@@pathunt6858 I agree BUT idk if Linn would’ve decimated the 220’s. I actually do think he would’ve won but shark and arsen might make him work pretty hard imo.
@@HandelandJ shark handled that weight cut way better than expected. Hes a super huge threat at 220 for anyone wouldn’t mind seeing him vs john i think todd would be too much plus todd doesn’t care if he loses his hand.
Those toproll tourneys were some of the sickest!!! And on Thursday evenings too. This was the best one I’ve been to. Nick zinna, 198 lbs Chandler pulling multiple classes, 160 lbs Corey miller pulling tons of classes and not even making top 4 in left 176 bc it was so stacked. Frickin insane.
My info about mn is a bit out of date but ill still try to predict them. Ill go Ryan Kyle Alex Andy Corey Kai Blake Lexi Ringer Jeb Mike( id say this is match of the day too)
I say Awgust will win vs Ryan. Kyle will win vs Awgust Alex will win vs Andy Shaun will win vs Kai Lexi will win vs Jolene Kyle will win vs cory Dylan will win his matches
@@HandelandJ i can see Petro Marharint winning this , although he’s hit or miss really ! Also Leonidas is very strong . Levan wins imho Makarov can win as well Tough matches tho !
I’m officially changing one pick, I think Alizhan beats Ermes! My head says Ermes but I’m going Alizhan just bc I have a feeling…. I also forgot to add in the video that I almost picked Levan - but I don’t want to jinx it hence I picked Devon. But, I hope Levan smashes him!!! 😈
Personally i have levan but i see devon actually pinning him. Levans injury does concern me i see Devon exploiting it. Ermes stalling levan center table with his posting back pressure i dont think devon has that ability but who knows devon could surprise the hell out of me. Devon says he has been doing strictly compound curl movements this whole prep and also training his press which would be my game plan for levan.
The guy he’s facing is a multiple time EAF and WAF champ at 75 and 80kg. And now he’s beefed up to 95kg…. Got that Georgian supplementation going on, haha! Should be an interesting match for sure. 🙂
Kamils left is no joke I think this is a super close matchup but style mismatch to kamil 3-1. kamil I’m giving room for errors/fouls and the potential for Tobias to get the hit on ready go one time. I think kamil is going to put the fear of god in him and Tobias won’t test his frame against that.
Dang I overestimated Tobias / underestimated Kamil!!! Rino and Kamil went 2-2 in 2023 so I wonder if Kamil has improved a ton since 2023 (although Rino is a beast too no doubt, just not a top 10 guy imo). I’d like to see Kamil face Ermes left now.
@@HandelandJ yeah kamil is the real deal his left press is really good i think you may be underestimating rino a bit if him and kamil run it back its still a good match give kamil the edge. Between them its whoever gets the hit first.
Leonidas is severely underrated school boy is overrated. Schoolboy is not close to rino. I have school boy about in the same spot but lower than chance Shaw if leonidas loses to guys in Florida not named brad Grundy or chance Shaw school boy should be the favorite but it shouldn’t be a blowout match strength for strength. I do have school boy as the way more intelligent puller in this match but school boys intelligence couldn’t out maneuver Khalid of course all of these pullers have stepped up since the Khalid vs schoolboy match occurred but should be close 3-2 schoolboy.
I think schoolboy is way better than you think…. I think he beats Chance! I’d actually like to see him vs Grundy! You know schoolboy beat a Korean guy in a sm fall of 2023, and the same Korean beat Grundy early in 2023 in a sm? And without a lot of difficulty. Still, styles makes matches.
True, I forgot about that! But that was an 85kg cap. I think I heard publicly that he was like 87, or somewhere thereabouts? At any rate, he could for sure make 95kg - that’s the weight he should compete at imo.
@@ThePress88 you beat Alex and he took 5th (while getting a win on the first place guy), so I definitely think you belong. Would be cool to see you there.
Met Rehtt back in mid, late 80s, arm wrestled him out of fun once. Went as well as expected lol. Although I did do pretty well against him playing mercy but I'm 6'3" so had a height advantage
85 for 4 reps is crazy, you sure you ain't on something? lol, j/k. At my peak 2020 before covid, I managed to hold 100 lbs side pressure, now I tried the same hold and I couldn't even hold more than 75 lbs. That same bicep curl, now I could only mustard 70 lbs max. Bet you can do 100 lbs for 1 rep.
70 still isn’t bad for a 70kg guy that’s just getting back into it! And yeah I probably could! I don’t like doing one rep max’s though. They are a good way to get hurt - and if you don’t get hurt, they take some time to recover from. Jmo
Not very often. I do hammer curls but I don’t go quite as heavy, and the few times I have I hang the weights off a karate belt and hold the belt in my hand so it’s not attacking my riser (bc my riser can’t handle a 70+ lbs dumbbell in a hammer curl position).
Hey Josh, since you were at the Vancouver in 2010 when John and Devon trained together, I wanted to know how did both guys match up at that time? Like were they close in terms of strength, and how would have Arsen done against Devon in your opinion?
