I'd much rather give up nothing, but I don't know that even 2-late first rounders would get it done. That's why I brought up Penix.... IF, and I mean IF you wanted to add one of the top pass rushers in football, what would it cost you... I think the Raiders would want Penix to start. I also don't think that would be enough. Raiders wouldn't have Traded Crosby for Penix in April, and unless Crosby sits out demanding a trade, it's going to cost more than that now.
When your D allows 3 points in the second half without sacks and 6 points in the second half of the bucs this team isn’t perfect but you don’t rush a flower to bloom
I really want to know how good this team would be with a pass rush. I feel like they would have the best secondary in the NFL. I know AJ gets a lot of hate, but how many dbs can cover a receiver for 6 seconds almost every single play?
Hey guys, I have a question. When I watch and rewatch those games, I see many situations where flags should be thrown against the Oline because of massive holdings, but they aren’t. We might not have a good pass rush… or non at all. But how can our guys get to the QB if they are in a chokehold? And I noticed this in other games too. Why are those penalties not called?
@@ScottKennedy So basically there is much of this grey area for holding calls against the OL. Because, when I looked into the official rules I had the feeling they were really strict. And in some games you really see those rules being enforced. But then there are those where even a chokehold is considered grey area 😂.
@@kelu6433 they're all judgement calls. It's more like pass interference than offside. Like a umpire's strike zone, every person calling it is going to be a little different.
@Super.5th would i have traded No. 8 overall for Crosby in April? Yes. So why wouldn't I now? Penix hasn't done anything since April to make himself more valuable... except to Falcons fans by putting on a Jersey. And I'm thinking you must not really know Maxx if you think you could just get one in the draft. He's one of the top 3 edge rushers in football. Garrett, Watt, Crosby. He's also 27 years old. He's young. Can you explain to me how I can just "draft one" and NOT "waste draft capital"? If Crosby becomes available, it's going to take more than the equivalent of a top-10 draft pick, and until Penix plays a down, that's all he is. His stock hasn't gone up or down since being drafted, except for the emotional attachment Falcons fans have placed on a guy wearing their jersey. Try and make that trade in April, and Raiders laugh at you, so again, what's happened that has made Penix so much more valuable since then?
let's say both things are true... why give $25-million a year to a 30-year old receiver with big red flags on his resume... still kinda dumb, isn't it?
Fun fact: Raheem’s first 6 games record as Falcons interim head coach was 4-2! He lost the subsequent 5 games to finish the season 4-7! This looks more like a 9-8 season.
Scott, this is definitely a "rope-a-dope" defense. They take a lot of punches and look like they are getting pummeled, then out of nowhere...forced fumble... interception. I think we as fans want to see a Mike Tyson type defense, but they arent built that way.
it's working for the most part, I just don't know how sustainable it is. Like the Offense has shown the ability to run or pass, I sure would like to see a 5 sack game from the defense just to prove "yeah, we can come get you"
first month of the season is kind of a feeling out process for everyone. They didn't need anything more than that against the Panthers, but I sure would like a guy who could consistently get pressure off the edge even with a 4-man rush.
Love listening to you guys so much! Couldn’t agree more with you Scott…it’s so frustrating watching the soft D and lack of pass rush. Who’s mainly to blame for this…Jimmy Lake or Morris? I want Myles Garrett badly. Is he too expensive to trade for?
Sorry I couldn't finish the live stream. Tree fell into my house after leaving my starting comments(taking a break from cleaning up)!10:30 to your point, not only do analytics not always show who or how many people they ran through for their yards, but they don't show great blocks. Bijan knows how to block(unless it's vita vea 😅).
@ScottKennedy thank you sir! You know what? The way I look at it is, my house is relatively ok compared to those ravaged by the storm. So it's a minor distraction that we'll get taken care. God is good! And yeah Drake has been doing some really great work that the stats don't show as well!
@ScottKennedy depth is code word for (backup) lol he isn't a starting caliber DE in the NFL... My question for you is. Do you think the Falcons make another move via trade for a DE?
Scott and Nick love the showas always, you 2 do a great job!!! Nick prayers you get healthy asap brother!! Love to hear your opinions Our pass rush isn't player, it's scheme No passrusher is getting him in 2 seconds Our def scheme of playing 8 years of wr giving a 5 yard complete on 1 n 10 so we stop the 20 yard explosive plays, no one is getting to a QB tar fast 2nd we are to vinnapv on Def, we veried loks, no showinf a 7 man blltsz then bsiling out, No overloading the left bt blitz from the right. Loving we at 4 n 2 but I'm the real world playoff our def would get mauled
People cry about pass rush like its end all be all. The objective of the game is to win. Do you want more wins or sacks? Sacks don't make you win, scoring does.
Let's be honest, we really had 45. Clark downed it when he could have walked in for the pick 6. But yes, we should have got 6 on more redzone trips in the 2nd half.
@@flaviushobbs When you come out a nickel, base defense, with a light front 4, you're basically saying "go ahead and run" --- the scheme was definitely different against the Panthers
@@charlesplymail1721 run it back to January, and I said I'd rather have a rookie QB and 100 million invested into free agents (like edge rushers). This season? Latu would help the Falcons more than Penix. 3 years from now, we'll see.
Lorenzo Carter was literally on his knees multiple times while rushing the passer. Unacceptable. And Arnold Ebiketie was much of the same. If you dont make a move, then all that win now stuff was a lie.
I think they eventually made moves with Judon and Simmons. If they had been signed acquired BEFORE the draft, I think the narrative around the Penix pick would have been a lot different.
NO TO CROSBY! I don’t think we are quite there just yet as far as the team everybody thinks we are. We headed in the rite direction tho. I think we need our very own drafted pass rusher. Not from another team imo
3 more games, that's one of the things I keep saying. The Falcons have 3 more games before the trade deadline, the hype around the team could be a lot different.
Nope. Definitely do not want to trade Penix for anybody. Would love to have Crosby but, not at the expense of our possible bright future. With our luck, we trade Penix and Cousins goes down the week after.
How do we know that Penix is our future? He has not played one snap in a real game yet. For all we know he could be Ridder 2.0 we are in a position to win right now
@@derrickhughes9099 How do we know anything for sure? We don’t, but we PLAN FOR THE FUTURE. Penix is the Plan for the future. We aren’t trading our plan for the future.
