Wish you people would leave Americans alone, stop spreading the news about places hardly any one goes to. Once you make it all public and"protect" it you just ruined it. I grew up in gateway, and for 50 years of my life it was fine and hardly anyone came around...until now...your facts are wrong on the fish,,never ever caught a endangered fish..mind your own business stop publicizing and promoting growth...we don't want it
Implications of Designating the Dolores River as a National Monument and closures or restrictions the public could and likely would face: 1. Pristine wild lands along the Dolores River would become developed public areas with amenities like stinky public restrooms and parking lots. “Wild lands would not remain wild.” 2. Influx of Tourists. 3. Wild lands decimated and converted into public camp grounds. 4. Wildlife run out of their homes by influx of human activity. 5. Places that were accessible to you previously would no longer would be easily accessible due to restrictions all National Monuments face. 6. Trash Everywhere. 7. Loss of hunting & fishing rights. 8. Seasonal closures. 9. Restricting off-road vehicle use to designated trails to minimize environmental impact. 10. Regulating camping areas. 11. Overcrowding. 12. Managing water access. 13. Limiting access to certain sensitive habitats or archaeological sites which may or may not be a good thing. 14. Loss of Grazing rights. 15. Granting land access primarily to bicyclists who bear no financial responsibility for contributing to wildlife habitat maintenance or roadway upkeep. Unlike motorists or hunters, cyclists are not mandated to carry insurance, registration, or financially support habitat conservation efforts. Yet, they enjoy unrestricted access to public lands, roadways, and even easements through private properties. The case of Boggy Draw in Dolores serves as a vivid illustration of the potential implications of designating the Dolores River as a National Monument. 16. When an area is designated as a National Monument, it falls under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service or another federal agency, depending on the specific designation. Which means a whole lot of regulations. 17. Most importantly, first & lastly, “wild lands” will absolutely not remain “wild.” Tell me when you look around any National Monument what you see. Do you see wildlife everywhere? Or do you see endless human activity, public restrooms, and trash everywhere? Don’t let them fool you into believing our wild lands will be better protected by this designation. They will be better protected “from you,” not “for you or for the wildlife who live here.
I love the flowers and the night sky shown here. Irreplaceable! I support birds, and this landscape supports them in their migrations. Essential to their survival and ours! Wonderful! Strengthening the bonds between people and nature, between children and ancestral land-centered culture -- priceless! Thank you for this glimpse of a place I knew nothing about. Blessings!
Beautiful video but in my experience, and it is pretty extensive, "protecting" the land leads to many more people coming and impacting the land negatively. I saw it most recently at Escalante, Grand Staircase and at Bears Ears. When I went to these places and more in the early 70's, there were hardly any recreationists there at all. Maybe just Colin Fletcher and Edward Abbey.....
This government lackey is a sellout and a coward. Not one cent of that one million dollars he’s crying about would go to the ranchers benefit, he’s just mad he didn’t have the balls to do the same. I hope they tar and feather this imposter
It's a lie... they want to control your food and they'll control you. This is using your taxes to seize the means of production. Here's an idea... if you want to stop land development how about stop importing people to lower our wages and compete for existing homes.
I'm actually surprised that we are able to post comments on this ad. Most likely, these comments are going to get deleted and are going to prevent us from making any more comments.
This ad is silly. There was a company mining minerals for lithium batteries for electric cars, close to Mount Rushmore. President Biden put a stop to and preventing a US company from mining this minerals but turned around and gave a big contract to China? Who are you fighting for Mr President? Not the American people.
So whose land are they going to grab? I doubt it's going to be Ted Turner's or Bill Gates. Are they going to bulldoze all the Mansions along the coast? No they're going to steal farmland from middle class Americas. people that can't afford to fight. I'm sure our family farm in Illinois will be one of the ones on The chopping block.
Yes, what we need is more land given to the Fed to mismanage and less land that can be used for farming and ranching. Land only suitable for ranching in all actuality. Land that could be used for large herd ranching specifically because grasslands require great herds moving *through* them to be healthy, and the fed has done such a good job destroying these grasslands be restricting where herds can go, why should we stop them now? The fed has no incentive to drive herds or even *properly manage the lands they already have control of*, feck off.
This is creeping into Hawaii. Its not good for the fishermen/women here who CULTURALLY fish. We take care of our lands. Its the factories and waste companies that pollute the water. AND its the military on oahu. Our water is diverted for businesses. Ancient Hawaiians had a system that protected the lands and maintained balance in our ecosystem. But greedy companies came in and stole our water (literally) which also affects the ocean. Theres a lot more going on and blocking off sections is NOT going to protect the waters (and land). It’ll only hurt the families and culture that depend on the land.
This plan could work if the US homes and towns had been organized like European clusters / enclaves. Towns in centralized regions (for instance the landkreis concept in Germany) and adjoining uninhabited landscape deemed for forest conservation, ,wildlife, water resources, fishing, and planned farming Yet the US was settled from east to west with a fairly unplanned and unorganized irregular spread. As they said if settlers heard a neighbors dog bark they moved further west anywhere that provided more space. Now 30x30 - 50x50 envisions, that people do not inhabit land resource areas that are considered eligible for seizure. Well they DO inhabit these lands, some for over thousands of years.
Thank you for all those responsible for promoting the preservation of the Bears Ears! Although I live in Pennsylvania, I have had the great fortune to visit the four corners area many times. I always am in awe of the scenery but even more humbled by the history and legacy of those that came before us. As always, I take photos & paint while there and leave only footprints; this may be a trite sentiment to some but to me it is a way of life.
In your generation ad, you conveniently LEFT OUT AND SKIPPED TRUMP SIGNING THE BIGGEST WILDERNESS PROTECTION ACT SINCE 2008. Trump designated 13 million acres of federal land in California, Oregon, Utah, and New Mexico as wilderness. Which made logging, oil drilling, and road building banned. Biden is garbage and you skipped over trumps work to focus on how Biden hasn’t done shit yet? Ridiculous. Only makes you all less credible and many less interested in following you.
