We are a Development platform for football coaches, with a specialty in Canadian Football. Our goal is simple: to produce resources that give coaching to Coaches, and Access to athletes looking to learn the game of football. From Our social media platforms, to our Community page, we create a variety of resources to help everyone from experienced coaches, to coaches starting out with Developing as a coach. We also create resources designed for athletes to help take their game to the next level.
Great points Also, marketing the game as 3D! Football or 3Down Football (vs. "Canadian" football) would allow the game to be more widely marketed, worldwide. (And how about 10 players per side to adapt 3D! Football to the smaller fields in USA? to keep the space open... which allows for smaller squads/budgets for startup leagues etc.)
I think Montréal alouettes do a great job with the 3-4 technique! Would be awesome to see some of it explained in a game at Montreal or even the grey cup had high camera coverage!
Keegan struggled a bit-sometimes more than a bit. The QB matters. The defense never felt obligated to account for McNamara. The running lanes were wider with JJ at QB.
Well done Coach! Around 6:00 you show Zone Insert. Do you check this to the 3 in order to get the dbl on the 1 to BSLB? Looking to make it as simple as possible. Thanks!
Thinking from a OL standpoint here. Should the OL recognized the LB in this situation and altered the blocking assignments? Have the RG block the LB and RT block the NT instead of a double team? 7 guys in the box against a zone scheme just blows my mind.
I want to make sure I have this right. When you call a double team to a backer, that is what you are planning on doing pre-snap, assuming the defense stays there. After the defense stunts or blitzes, that combination is off and then you are blocking your gap. Correct?
Good video, going to incorporate these drills into practice this week. Curious, how do you drill angles for guys on zone reads? We face a lot of trips zone read option, keying that end. My guys turn their shoulders and get up field and I struggle to get them to slow down and see the play. Thanks
Hey coach these film cutups are awesome! I’m actually running this defense this year but lack film to show for it; is there anyway we could get the hudl clips that you’re showing?? It would help a ton!
I love this video coach!! I’m actually running this defense this coming season! Is there anyway you could share this film in any way? I’d love to break it down the same way for my kids
Hye Coach! When a team goes empty, where are the run fits, and are there any fold/hold players for the RPO (yes, I am aware it would be difficult for a HS/College QB to do this)? Essentially, who is responsible for the 5th and 6th fit in the run?
Coach, our first week is against a two tight double wing team. Have had a hard time with this in the past. We would to talk with you about some consulting on this.
I dunno. I think #3 and #10 do a great job working in tandem to trap the qb on the keep. I thought #3 timed up his approach nicely. The qb had no chance to throw the pass to the man #3 should have covering. Besides, #3 had help coming downhill with force. I also think the 2 foot hop was appropriate and allowed #10 to be explosive off his plant and crossover step. The idea that crossover steps are wrong in that situation is disproven in this clip. The 2 foot hop to a crossover sprint is called a plyo-step.
The easiest thing you can ever do is 1-2-3, 1 corner/z, 2 back, stronger crosser/x. It puts the flat defender in terrible conflict in the passing game, its death to zone, and the run game guy is also the flat defender. So you run it under center, with zone, c gap play…Defense has a massive problem. And total chaos, if you have tight end and fullback. But that is for a different day.
