Jullien should've read this book to help him fall asleep instead of drinking a sleeping potion that causes him to sleep for 113 years where he wakes up to be lectured about the economy of the future in this most boring way possible.
I actually like the narrator, however; I can’t find what edition he’s reading from. I have two different versions of this book and neither of them are even remotely close to what he is reading.

Kipling requires an English voice otherwise the whole experience of British India is lost. To listen to Kipling read by someone with a drawling American accent is just absurd.
Awesome but why the speed in reading such profound writings? In addition, the pitch of the voice is not very appealing [a baritone voice, as it would come from Tolstoy himself, would have enhanced the impression of earnestness/authenticity]
Tacitus gave a pretty good summary of how colonialism works. And it is interesting that the US empire is using similar methods today. According to Tacitus the Caledonian chieftain, Calgacus said of the Romans, '' They plunder, they slaughter, and they steal: this they falsely name Empire, and where they make a wasteland, they call it peace.''
