Hi! Im Sarah! I’ve had Type 1 Diabetes for 19 years. After living with this disease for 19 years (wowza, thats a long time) I like to think that I have some experience with T1D. I’ve experienced some of the highest highs, and lowest lows caused by type 1. From burnout to lowering my A1C and meeting other T1 friends! I’m here to share my experiences with you and let you know that you are not alone.
This is so relatable. The bigger the bag I have the more crap I want to shove in there. I’m trying to be a “belt bag girly” this summer. I always have at least 2 or 3 low snacks in my bag when I’m out, but if I actually go low I just buy a drink 90% of the time 😂
Just found your channel. Do you know if you can get NovoPen 6 or Echo Plus Smart Pens in the USA? Is InPen my only smart pen option? FIASP Flextouch Pens are on backorder until 2025... (Major panic mode).
Hope you enjoyed Japan! I’ve always wanted to go ❤ but it would be a long flight from Ireland 😅 just started on the pump so it was great to see how you pack with pump supplies ❤
I gained 20 lbs and my family had an intervention on me about my weight gain. Mind you, I am the same weight as my mom now and weigh way less than my grandmother (my interventionists). Grandma is really the problem but mom feels the same way but just would rather talk behind my back about it. So I started trulicity yesterday. I got a headache about 1 hour later, lightheaded when working out at the gym also about an hour after the shot. Nausea is the worst part. But I took otc nausea meds and my own personal nausea "medication" and it has helped the nausea tremendously. Im going to the gym tonight so Im ok. They started me out on a lower dose which i dont like but i guess the pros have their reasons. It does help with cravings at this super low dose but food still tastes good. Which is both good and bad. Lol.
So happy for you! I have been watching some of your videos. I first met you in person in Virginia ( I think a FFL conference in Falls Church several years ago) I have dreamed of going to Japan. You are an amazing woman! Thank you for your videos!
I’m so sorry! No one should have to deal with someone like that as a health care provider! Sending a big hug! 💗 And I was diagnosed type 1 LADA and I definitely was not “overweight” lol especially because I had such big weight loss due to being undiagnosed so I got the whole “wow you’re so skinny and eat healthy, how did you get diabetes?!” Like homie my pancreas hates me I guess lol. 😅
This was so cute and helpful for me as I am trying my leg for the first time and am also nervous. Lol Thank you for sharing your experience! Even though I’m late by a year and JUST found your channel. 😂❤
Hopefully, to relieve some of your concerns, Insulin Lispro is the generic of Humalog, and it is the same thing. I went through that with my insurance a few months ago, and my dr was like yeah same thing just cheaper so insurance prefers it.
I'm glad your heart is ok, and so frustrated for you about that doctor! I've come to learn that doctors are just like the general population: a mix of good and bad. I used to think that their degrees made them all exceptional, but I've met some doozies! (Also wonderful people as I'm sure your mom is.)
@@shauntayecooper9489Yeah, it seems that some people do okay, and some don't. I know most people get horrific GI issues, but I never have for some reason.
Yes, I have ran across those type of doctors as well...Dr. Know-It All, who don't know your situation. Sounds like the cardiologist hasn't had a lot of experience with Type 1 diabetics. You may want to ask your cardiologist about referring you to a cardiologist that he likes working with and who is on your insurance plan. Thanks for the new video...I hope we get to see your mom in the next video. Take care. 😍
Sorry you had to deal with that. You'd think medical doctors would have a little bit of diabetes knowledge. I was with my young teen at a Peds appointment yesterday, and I mentioned to him that I had been diagnosed with T1d 5 years ago. His first words were "you, but you're so tiny!" I was like, "Type I autoimmune, not Type 2. I'm on a pump and Cgm" I was kind of taken aback. As far as Humalog, here in Canada they are also moving us over to the generic bioSimilar insulins. Insurances don't want to pay for humalog/ Novorapid anymore. Tandem here does allow the bioSimilar but I'm holding off switching.
