This channel is to share videos of my boat building. I am not a expert but a hobbyist with wood working skills. I love model RC airplanes and boating, and I’ve built 3 other boats in my new found retirement and countless RC kits. Now for the first time sit back and relax and join my video blogs.
This is exactly what im looking for and and im gonna be busy watching every part iv been looking at buying a fishing boat but the personal touch of build one is even better
@jamesboatbuild i can imagine you did, im on episode 12 at the moment, thats insane considering you have a 90hp and it does 40mph, do you know if they have plans for any other style boats?
So far so good not only do I use it for mowing I tow my trailer around my property and also use it as a golf cart. I will say the batteries only charge when they get below 40% and are cool (not used for a day) but they come right back up and are good to go
The plane will inherently be nose heavy with full tank of fuel however when need to balance the plane the tank must be empty. Moreover, lets say the plane is airborne and low on fuel the CG will still be balanced. Tail heavy airplanes crash even so at full scale.
I love it! Mind you I'm not one to save the planet by going electric but I do enjoy not dealing with storing gas and oil changes. It's way quitter than gas and I don't miss my old tractor one bit. I bought online through the Army exchange who price matched sams club sale price. It was a deal for me!
I use 30% of battery for one mowing of my yard. I don't charge ever time after I mow and when I do charge I only plug in the next day so where the batteries are cool. I also learned not to leave the charger plugged in all the time when not charging. I never went lower than 30% charged. Hope this helps with your mower.
i got mine at the army exchange because they price match and no tax but sams club and costco sells them and direct from yard force.com Sams club had them on sale in the spring time
Roger that ! And might I add your boat looks fantastic. I had one guy think I was giving him BS when I told him I built it myself from plans. Sarcastically he said," did you build the trailer too" and I said "no" but if you want proof go to James' boat build on youtube his face dropped when I pointed out the decals on my boat advertising that. lol
Only one year warranty on the battery?? I was convinced I need one after I saw your great review on it. but couldn't believe my eyes when I read the owner's manual and saw the one-year warranty on the battery on page 43 😢
I'm pretty sure Costco is selling these with 56 volt lithium iron phosphate batteries - much longer life, but more expensive to replace. Currently on sale at $3k, $500 off normal $3500 price. Online only.
Great sound from the twins! If you run into trouble with cylinders dropping out check/replace the plugs. I had to replace 5 out of 7 on my 50cc but it now runs perfectly like it did on the first 40oz of fuel.
try g2 feather fill instead of paint. It's a catalyzed high build polyester primer that is super chemical resistant, will hide 36 grit sanding scratches and polish up nice so the part comes off easy. It's almost like tooling gelcoat but way easier to work with and apply. Down side is the short pot life.
Gel coat and epoxy setbacks can really leave you scratching your head. Just when you think you got it down something pops up and you start to question the whole process. I'm right there with you. I have a finish coat of 2:1 TB Epoxy blushing, and I can't figure why. I think my ratio got off somehow. I'm sure you'll get it sorted out, good luck.
Yeah, but first we need hollow crankshafts to have access to the prop via servos. The biggest problem to that is how to seal the crankcase in the rear.
Looks fantastic but a bit scary. The blade hubs should have an indexing key. Its highly improbable to eyeball the blades and the slightest misalignment by only .002 / .003 of an inch will cause a large load imbalance and possible fatigue failure of the hub or blade. Fly safe..
48V is lead acid and 56V is LiFePO4 battery. I am just curious in the reasons that you chose lead acid over lithium. I am planning to order the lithium version. Should I not? TIA.@@jamesboatbuild
Don't understand why more people aren't watching. Ok, they were there for the boat like me, but any fiberglass work, especially making a mold out of a plug would be useful of many things on boats.
Your RC planes are really neat but what happened to all your boat building videos? I really enjoyed watching them and planned to use your experience on my build. :)
