has your paint been diluted enough? do you have enough water on your brush? is your paper the cause or is it the paint? some paints dry so quickly they don't even have time to blend....?
Have you tried using glycerin to keep your paints from drying out. It draws moisture from the air into things. It’s used a lot in cosmetics. How long does it take for newly make cakes to dry?

hey! from my experience, no. it depends on your paper and especially your paint though. some paint may dry chalky, and the pigments may rub off. you can test it by painting something, letting it dry thoroughly and then trying to rub it off with some tissues. you’ll see if the paint will transfer to other surfaces (ie. your books).
