I write this review with such an unfortunate feeling of regret and disgust. My husband and I took a trip on this beautiful Mischief boat a few years ago. The staff was amazing! We could not say enough good things about them. Having had such a nice trip, we booked another trip for October 2020, this time bringing our son. Unfortunately, as the world came apart with Covid-19, we mutually agreed to move our deposit money to the following October (2021), which we did in time as per agreement, with all the terms and provisions carrying to this new booking. In addition to continued Covid-19 pandemic concerns and world travel restrictions, our son has required two brain surgeries in early 2021, limiting his ability to travel and partake in any activities available on the trip for the foreseeable future. We had to make the unfortunate decision to cancel our booking, in lieu of these events. The Mischief agreement states a 3-month (120 day) cancellation option prior to embarking would precipitate a full refund of the large deposit, less a nominal fee per passenger. We have attempted to cancel and requested a refund, many, many times since early 2021. All requests have been denied. Again, if you are contemplating a booking here -- This company does not and will not honor their agreement! We have done everything the “contract” states, but they refuse to refund our deposit. We have even provided a letter from the Neurologist/Neurosurgeon about our child’s two brain surgeries, and inability to travel. They have completely refused all money return, and as stated via phone conversation with their representative, “This is the Mischief owner’s decision.” Again, future traveler, fair warning -- Be wary of giving this outfit any money if you ever entertain the idea of receiving it back should something happen. In my opinion, the Mischief owner is a terrible businessperson with questionable ethics. I cannot stand unethical people who take money, will not follow their own contract language, and instead simply make excuses. Beware potential customers! The contract as it is written, promises all deposit funds will be returned (less a nominal, per person fee) based on cancellation guidelines - well, guess again- they will renege on this provision. It is disgusting.
