wow, very professional prep-work and looks great. I just poured a 15 sq ft slab using 10 bags of quikrete by myself and it damn near kicked my butt. cant imagine taking on a project like this.
Probably one of the tougher things you can do, and these guys had the cat and a crew to get it done. A lot easier then a few guys carrying 80 pound bags of concrete around
Very poor surface prep... Around here, you'd need to remove all the soil down 3-4', then replace with Sand and Gravel, before pouring the slab. In other places, you might not need to excavate quite as much soil first, but I don't know anywhere that it's ok to pour the slab over grass, like you just did...
Well, they fucking did it, didn't they? It's totally gonna function as a driveway. Get off your high horse, I'm sure it will be fine for years to come.
@@assordante2205 u ever heard of constructive criticism? The grass and roots will die and decompose under the slab. When grass decomposes its volume decreases which leaves voids under the concrete. These voids will cause the concrete to crack much more then if they were not there. Concrete will always crack, no matter what u do. But u still want to do everything u can to stop it from cracking
Couple questions why so many guys to do such a small job and why didn't you use poles to cut your control joints in it would have saved alot of time and you wouldn't of had to crawl to hole pad
If you have a crew of 8-10 and have that job to do, you do not leave guys at home you get it done faster, 4 guys could have not got that done in a timely matter, guys would have poured later and been finished in the night time!!
