I'm never understood the fascination with gas guzzlers in US. You have to drive so far to get anywhere you'd go bankrupt crossing Texas. Especially those who have to do like 50 miles just to go get groceries.
Cost???? What these things cost you could probably get used Roxor for what they want for these cabs! Definitely cheaper to buy a classic FJ or Samurai and body swap! They can eat my butt, I’m not paying that much for a dang cab!!!!
Yes, you are right it's really a last offroader. In India this comes under one more version named Commander and I have seen people who owned it run it 35-40 years and after every 10 years they just repaint the body shell and rebuild the engine. And commanders can carry a ton of people with itself.
It leaks from many places. GM thought it would be smart to run the water drain pipes through the car. When these pipes get clogged up the water starts pouring into the cabin and pooling up in the door sills. Also the sunroof gasket falls apart which results in leaks from the sunroof and at that point it’s just better to remove the factory sunroof and seal the top shut with maybe some tempered glass (I’ll be doing this soon with mine)
