Between lawn mowing in the summer and snow blowing the driveway in the winter, it keeps me busy. Good job on the lawn mowing! Good luck with your future doctor appointment.
Hi, thank you, thankfully we don’t have the need for a snow blower. We haven’t had much snow here for a few years now. I am now thinking that I have tempted fate and I will be digging the car out this winter. 😝😝
Hi the surgery itself was just short of two hours. I had the anaesthetic that just numbs your legs. All I remember was being positioned and the surgeon taking the first cut. Then I woke up as everything was over. Very little trauma as I was out most of the time. They then took me to the recovery ward where they transfused some of my own blood back into me. That took about thirty minutes. Then I was taken to a ward given lunch while I regained the feeling in my legs. To get to a point where I could move both my legs took about another two hours or so. I was able to get up and use the toilet although I only did this because I didn’t like the thought of peeing in bed. The physical therapists gave me a zimmer frame to help me move about before I could get up. You will have very little strength in the leg for a number of days afterwards. I went into the hospital Wednesday morning and was allowed to go home Friday lunchtime. No matter what anyone tells you, you are not going home the same day. Hope this is of some help to you. I was thirteen years younger than your self at time of operation.
Hi Caroline, thank you very much. I seriously thought about cutting the grass yesterday but decided it was too early. On the whole though it’s definitely getting better
Hey guys! Hope all is well in your part of the world. They have some beautiful vehicles in that museum. My dad has a 57 Chevy that he puts in car shows. My favorite in your video is green military jeep. Have a great week my friends!
Hi Guys, How are you all doing? Not been in touch for a while. Still watching you and enjoying your adventures. Keep up the content please we are enjoying seeing all the new things that you show us :)
Hi Paul, thank you so much. It's getting better each day now. My problem now is that I need to be careful that I don't do anything stupid. As it feels better I get the urge to go do things, but it's still not a good idea. Plus I have been told not to
Thank you so much 😊 it’s getting better slowly. I’m not at the stage of wanting and feeling i can do things but i need to remember im recovering. So so good though 😀
Thanks Caroline. It did go well, I had my op in Woodend. For me with maybe one exception, all the staff were great. It was just the say that they sent Michelle away without explaining what was going to happen that was a bit upsetting. More so for Chelle than me I was too nervous to spot it at the time. The other three people on my ward had knees done. One went home the same day the other two were still in when I left. I think that a knee is more involved than a hip. The guy next to me had two hips done at the same time last year. He wasn’t worse off than that but he was able to compare the two operations. He didn’t enjoy any of them. Hopefully you get yours done soon so that you can get some summer enjoyment.
Hi Alan, What kind of car do you drive that needs charging? Is the infrastructure there set up pretty well with charging stations? My state doesn't have a good charging infrastructure and with usually 6 months of cold weather, not a lot of electric cars are driven here. I drive a Prius but it isn't a plug-in hybrid.
Hi, Like most family's we have two cars. A fully electric Vauxhall and we also have a Toyota Auris. Which is basically the same as the Prius. That is not a plug in car either. There is plenty of chargers now for the electric car. That said there are a few places that are lacking the fast chargers but they a getting better now. We keep both cars just in case we have a long power cut as most of our charging is done at home. Which is by far the cheapest way.
Aup Alan! Iv been trying to figure out what the pop vinyl is behind you. It looks like PlayStation, can you please put me out of my misery and tell me? Haha.
I only just got in myself. I don’t show that bit. Was touch and go. I was in that much pain when I got in I wasn’t really worried about how tight it was. 😜🤪
Hi Caroline, yeah I can understand that. I do suffer with claustrophobia but it didn’t seam to bother me in there. I did however really struggle getting in with my hip. It was touch and go at one point. 🥹
Chips peas and gravy on a barm. That takes me back too. They don’t know what a barm is up here. And as for a special, even I had forgotten they are a thing. Not had one for years. I had steak pie chips and curry sauce. I also throw on a battered sausage as well. And made chip butties too.
If it wasn't for bad luck you'd have had no luck at all 😀. We have had alot of rain, my front grass just won't dry out and is now mostly mud from me walking on it.
