My favorite scene in anime is in the Tanya the evil movie where Tanya and her squad destroy the building with the statue of the Stalin of that universe, She came from another universe but it was never built and she knew of the project. Thank god it was jsut a pipe dream cause Roumaina still has the god awful Palace taking space with no clear usage in their Capital.
First, your German pronunciation is horrible! Second, Berlin is built on a swamp so it could never have supported the weight of the Volkshalle or the triumphant arch.
We were on the wrong side in WW2, and nobody will ever change my mind on this, do i agree with the holocaust and the slave labour ? No of course not, but the fact remains that we sided with a country that did all of those things and on a grater scale, i think it was in Britains interests to have a non aggression pact with Germany, we didn't owe Poland a damn thing, and anyway the Soviet union was just as guilty as Germany for the invasion of poland..
the maginot line did its job, it did, what it was supposed to do, belgium at the other hand didn't do its job, that was the problem and not the maginot line.
So.Nazis invaded just to stop construction??? Also I fong it interesting 1986 Cernobyl bombed 1989 Ignalina never finished 3 Darkseid Boxes THE GRID every time comunist being great= they get bombed... wow though to be Commie
Such an uninspiring design inside out. It may be green, sustainable and huge - but lacks any pleasing artefacts let alone any cultural touch. Disappointing!
I think it’s behind the scenes content for “man in the highcastle” which shows a version of history if Germany won WW2. I remember seeing clips of it elsewhere about how they made the CGI
No wonder Hitler was rejected from art school, his art was terrible. Germania was completely unoriginal, and just a scaled up immitation of Ancient Greece or Rome but without any soul. The fact that Germany had to import marble for Hitler's vanity project rather than do anything original is extra pathetic. I think of that Shrek quote on Lord Farquaad's castle "you think maybe he's compensating for something?"
It wasn't meant to be original, he knew it was Greek and Roman. You obviously haven't studied the man, this is not a secret. Get educated. Read the Frederic Spotts book, "Hitler and the Power of Aesthetics".
Irritating robo voice made me terminate this video after only ten seconds because it's irritating as fuck and makes the video unwatchable. Have you even listened to this shit?
Wow, great Video! This Architecture amazes me every time anew. My great-grandmother still tells me how they were pumped full of Nazi propaganda on TV and how you were told that Berlin will soon be called Germania and become the world capital. Those were depressing times back then.
Hitler's ideas of city design were straight out of "Metropolis". Giant monolithic buildings that just shrunk its human inhabitants down to the level of ants. Crushing concrete monstrosities that just pandered to his boundless megalomania.
No, you aren't getting it at all. These buildings were supposed to exist for thousands of years long after he was dead so it clearly wasn't just about his ego. The message was the identification of the masses with the power of the STATE and the public's feelings of being great themselves through their connection with something so spectacular.
Honestly even if Germany won the Second World War, I really think that the development of this project will eventually be scaled down and look far different even if implemented.
Correct, the Nazis actually did build very heavy concrete structures to test the solidity and carrying capacity of the sandy Berlin ground. They found that neither the Arc nor the big Hall could be built because they were way too heavy and would sink.
I don’t think so, in fact I think Hitler would double down if he won against Britain and the USSR. His ego would’ve reached unthinkable levels as it was already immense after the defeat of France. He would not allow a downscaling of his and Speer's pet project, in fact I think it would be much more likely that he would scale it up instead. He wouldn’t care how many resources it would take
@@bbbbavkfof course they could be built, we’ve built much bigger and heavier buildings than that, it would’ve needed severe reinforcements but it would’ve been possible
@@Icetea-2000 That wasn't the plan. The future defeat of Russia was perceived as being connected to Britain making peace, peace not "winning" against them. The two fronts were deemed interconnected.
They just would have had to have dug foundations down to the bedrock. They could do it cheaply, In typical nazi fashion that would have brought in 200,000 slave laborers and when the project was completed the hundred thousand survivors would have been killed. Remember they were actual Nazis.
like other relics of the peak of NAZI achievements which were then confiscated by allied countries after the defeat of the NAZIs. It has taken 50 years and even today many have not been successfully developed by leading companies in America such as Lockheed Martin. Germania if successfully completed,, I believe, like other NAZI technological remains, would be an amazing human achievement
