I'm a Japanese woman. Enjoy my favorite Russian Operatic Bass, Alexander Vinogradov's performance:))) If you would like to know about him, please visit my website, his fansite! darkhoneybass.info/
Ana Maria Martinez is simply ravishing here - with an old-world sound that is just perfect and one rarely heres from sopranos in Verdi these days (I realize this is 2008, but still). The production is lovely and the entire cast and :Massimo Zanetti's leadership make this come to live. Always one of the most underappreciated great operas gets a well deserved outting here. Thank you for sharing this!
Absolutely incredible. Both Bass and Soprano are brilliant So much power in their performances. The orchestra, chorus, Segerstam! Many still don't know how much intense drama Prokofiev could summon from an orchestra. A truly great composer...very well served here
Интерпретация этой арии, которую предлагает Il grande Vinogradov, великолепна! Его вокальная линия сбалансирована, мягка и очень выразительна, достойна великого артиста.
Splendid production of this opera based on a Schiller play set in England and Scotland. Scenery brilliant evoking a rural setting. The overture is reminiscent of the die Frieshutz overture by Weber, Verdi has the Italian soul with sometimes Germanic orchestration, I think Guiseppi Verdi was a great fan of Beethoven.

I had no idea Rachmaninoff had written a Francesca da Rimini also !! I'd LOVE to hear it when you are singing it in Boston....but am not able to on that day ....😢Toi, toi, toi !
If you haven't heard it with the Low C, this is Cesare Siepi's studio recording from the 1950s. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CKofK8-wB4k.html
Hello verdiguy! Thanks for your interest comments, and sharing with C.Siepi’s great recording. No doubt Siepi is one of the most absolutely amazing bass in the 20th and of course I love his warm low voice. But Alexander is still alive,I appreciate we are alive the same time and i’m proud him:)))
@@darkhoneybass He's the finest Verdian bass around today. His Count Walter in Luisa Miller at the Met was superb and he's an excellent Zaccaria in Nabucco as well. I'm hoping that he'll be back at the Met soon. We live on the east coast of Canada and the Met's broadcasts on Sirius Satellite Radio are our main source of operatic enjoyment.
Fabulous singing, absolutely incomprehensible staging and direction. Why is Alexander's character Marcel stuck in the window for the first part of the aria? I wish directors would just stick with what the composer intended instead of thinking they know better. I just wish Alexander had gone for the low C on the Signeur! That would have made this perfect!
@@darkhoneybass Thanks very much! I've seen some clips with him lately but he hasn't been back to New York since Luisa Miller and Carmen before COVID. We live in Eastern Canada so about 90% of the opera we get to experience is on Sirius Satellite Radio from the Met. I'll look forward to watching the whole Nabucco. The glasses make him look a bit like Harry Potter!
As he aged, maestro Segerstam took on the aspect of a jovial Biblical prophet of old. His recording of Allan Pettersson symphonies is worth a listening .
Muchas gracias.
