My home town is Cedar Rapids Iowa most trains you will see UP BNSF CN CRANDIC IANR IAIS and some surprises along the way. I upload larger videos on Wednesdays and smaller videos on the weekends.
All that activity you hear and see in this video has either ceased or slowed down dramatically. A mechanic i know that was with the company well over 20 years was fired along with many others because of Precision scheduled railroading. That parking lot at East 5 (small red brick building) has 1/3 the cars seen in this video. The footage taken from the rusty brdge at 11:02 track 32 thru track 66 has been removed and turned into parking for containers. The maintainers truck is on track 23. That genset locomotive is coming off the rip runaround (track next to the supply of drawbars, trucks, cushioning devices etc) and passing the rip pocket that the tank car is on, to work between track 32 thru 42. All of this track information can be followed fairly easily by google maps prior to 2020. The latest changes as of Jan 31, 2023 dont show on there. I'm glad some things of what railroading used to be like was preserved.
@@AC44CWCTE5695 This is mom's hometown. Been there many times. Too bad the narrow gauge to Cascade was taken out in the mid 1930's. That would be an interesting subject.
Fantastic this combination of steam locomotive and the round nose locomotive I love these diesel locomotives as much as these big steam locomotives. An excellent video. Thank you for showing me
