You must have access to avenues many of the rest of us don’t. I got it for $99 back in February from gamenerdz. While it has since gone up to $130-140, it has definitely not been my best investment for 2024. My best investment for 2024 so far is the 151 pc ETBs. Oh I see. This video was posted back in February. Hard to tell from shorts. I thought it was a great investment back then. It probably still is, but I’ve had several things do better than it in a shorter amount of time since then. Anything evolving skies. Anything 151. Twilight masquerade. Lost origin bbs. Fusion strike bbs. My charizard UPCs did better. Hell, even brilliant stars did better over the course of this year. I don’t think my battle styles investment even ranks in the top 10
@@ToGoBox69 sorry I maybe completely wrong on how I said it but I've been kinda paying attention to my brother's collection and he drops stacks on the cards just to collect them and then after something that happened with the auctions he said the cards values are probably going to drop so he's stopped buying boxes. He's not the type to poorly invest in anything he's super strict about making good investments. I should probably get him to explain everything.

But it does feel nice to have the real thing that carries value. You could relate it back to your video game analogy, in a game like WoW or CS2, it’s cool to have the higher value skins or items in the actual game instead of a private server or where you can get every look or item, in my opinion! 🔥

Lol I also don't own the banned cards but have a bunch of vaults floating around I bought for around 15 each a long while ago. Guess I gotta sell them and cash in on the pain train. I also think they will replace all the banned cards, it's just common sense at this point but people really wanna believe WOTC is their best friend who loves them and holds their personal collections in high esteem. Universes beyond shows they don't care about the IP, modern horizons show they dont care about the formats, and Magic 30th shows they do not respect the players or the history of the game. Wake up people, there is not exactly a good track record going on here.
In your WoW analogy, it’s a private server. Just like how you turn on creative mode for Minecraft to build whatever you want in your private server, but have to abide by survival mode in the regular game. So while you could proxie around your kitchen table with friends, places like tournaments or some play groups at your local LGS won’t allow them. Also very rude to call the RC members 300 lb neckbeards that angry about the cost of the pieces. Not only can you see who’s in the RC and they are active members in the community, but they very clearly explained the reasoning behind the bans even following up with an FAQ after all the uproar. I’ll agree WotC was scummy squeezing out extra profit knowing these cards were on the possible chopping block, but that’s just on par for Wizards. Profits over players.

I think we just have to be careful with the word “community” because I can promise you wizards only cares about the money in the “communities” pockets. @@ToGoBox69 oh 100% wizards is trying to get as much money as they can. (or at least since Hasbro has pushed them to squeeze as much at they can to double their profits.) Their track record with the OGL, M30, etc has been a mess. The RC and wizards are separate entities though. The RC doesn’t get profit the better Wizards does, don’t get healthcare coverage. They attend cons, have their own RU-vid channels. Yes they do interact with Wizards, but aren’t paid by them. I think community is a fine word to use to describe the magic players collective though.

No, but these just came out of no where after the Rules Committee hasn’t been moving much with any bans. These were also some high $ pieces. Most of the time a card is realized as too powerful and people can see the ban hammer coming or it’s a new card that doesn’t have a lot of time to peak in price. These have been out for years, untouched and nothing recently released would have made them any better.

Also I personally would be upset as a player if I just bought a play set of these from new releases just to be banned. Its not unlikely for banned cards to be a lil higher in price, since the strongest/rarest cards tend to be more expensive. Investing in cards that are not on the reserved list has to be one of the most foolish decisions ever. Every investment channel and personality would agree with this statement. They aren’t even seen as equity, so you can’t even take out a loan against the fluctuating value of your cards.
The answer for “why not proxy” is for official WotC events you have to have the real cards. And coming from games like YGO where the ban list is updated every quarter and very frequently the top gets chopped, this is comical. Grow up man.

You are litterallly explaining the process that every card game takes when absolutely broken cards happen, you ban tgem, and test the waters with weaker versions to see the line. Thats what jewelled lotus is, black lotus is busted, its banned, so they pronted black lotus, but only for commanders, which is still over the line so its banned. This isnt some illuminati conspiracy to steal all ur money, its the normal way card games work and have worked for many many years. Hell normal mtg formats do the same thing.

Crucible of War 1st edition you can now find for sub $300 a booster box. That’s a good price for a limited print run (37,500) total displays.. highest price point on TCG was $448. I will probably buy one.
If you’re not in it for the hobby, you already lost. This is a disposable income hobby and if you don’t have money to lose don’t spend ANY of it on Pokémon cards or any other no essential item for that matter.

Not only do people exist who play these games but surely that's the majority of people or at least thats what I would think. I mean I've been doing pack opening video and there are several channels that do that but you wouldn't say that's what the cards are for.
I talked to a master engraver who has been engraving metal for 45 years. He charges $200 for an hours worth of work where as some just starting out could only charge $20. Building a reputation really can make quite a big difference.
What I've been trying to do is control my spending by pulling out the same amount of cash every month from the ATM and try to control my spending that way. I know exactly how much I've spent so far because i can see what's left in my wallet. That is excluding rent, utilities and phone bill.

It’s the biggest anime that’s still being written and animated. It has a worldwide player base. But what does sorcery have? A dead category on whatnot and no product in any major retailers or LGS.
Speaking of print quality on shrouded look how the cards are not rectangular they’ll all obtuse and shit. IRs are chippy and show foil on the boarders. Good looking cards will be premium.
