Hey guys welcome to the channel. I will be uploading full walkthroughs from the PS2 and Xbox era, with maybe some PS1 and SNES games also. I will also be focusing on doing comparison videos of PS2 and Xbox to show the differences between the two. If you guys like my content please subscribe, like and comment. It would really mean a lot!
Was the XBox version of GTA3 based on the PC version (which was in turn based on the PS2 version), due to similar hardware specs between the two platforms (x86 CPU, DirectX-based graphics hardware, and others)? The XBox’s XGPU graphics chip was based on the GeForce 4 Ti series, which used DirectX 8. Also, the XBox port was developed by Rockstar Vienna (formerly Neo Software), the same company behind the console ports of Max Payne 1 and 2 (Rockstar Toronto did the PS2 port of Max Payne 1).
What really ruins the PS3/O360/PC version for me is the fact that you can't save vehicles in the garage like in the PS2 version. That was such a major buzz kill and disappointment for me. There are so many vehicles in this game that cant be bought or unlocked toooooooo.
PS2 Jimmy looks younger, like an actual 15 y.o. but he also looks like hes having an allergic reaction. SE Jimmy looks so mad for no reason and i kinda don't like the yellow tint SE have.
The reflections on vehicles are better on Xbox. I don't think the ps2 version has dogs barking in it either. (during Chef scene) The wheels on the cars are different as well.
thank you for this, having such a hard time deciding which version I want to go with for my first playthrough. Scholarship looks amazing but PS2 holds up pretty well, although some of the animations, like running, look better on the 360. Think I'm gonna go with the original version and I'll still try scholarship, but then I can appreciate (or not) the extra stuff they added in.
Just tried the Xbox version playing xbox kinda feels like i downloaded a texture pack, cool, but really kills the original vision and atmosphere behind the ps2 version. The lack of fog and lower quality and amount of reflections really makes liberty city feel more sterile and less unnerving than the ps2 version.
Even the comparison alone litterly shows the xbox version looking the same some what but better imo lmao😂 and has the better reflections even tho clearly it's worse on cars on the ps2, rewatch the vid. The game is still the same dark liberty city vibe with fog etc but plays and looks better on xbox😊
@@snowydayssduhh9771 3:04 Look at how much more dynamic and pleasing night time atmosphere is on PS2, with the lights reflecting off the cars. Also, Xbox is blurrier, and with the road in the distance always more blurred compared to PS2 giving the illusion the draw distance looks worse on Xbox.
@snowydayssduhh9771 yea just rewatched again and it's not there man. Idk what to tell you, the lighting reflections from traffic lights and street lights are not as present on the Xbox as they are on the ps2. I think you should rewatch right after you take 8 ball in the car 😉
This is not related to the game settings... I wonder what version of the game you have, didn't you have any problems doing the nacho missions? In my case the screen remains black and it doesn't work anymore
Only if PS2 didnt got the 9/11 attack it wouldn't look that way Xbox got more time for GTA 3 thats the reason why Xbox in some aspects look better than PS2
It is hard to understate how much this game sold the tech potential of the Xbox. It was E3 2002 (?) and you could see Doom 3 with all its dynamic unified lighting running on a top end PC and then a few booths over here was something that looked almost the same running on a box already available for 1/10th the cost of the PC running Doom 3. Not a 1:1 comparison in that sense but it highlighted the Microsoft had at least backed a decent technology stack. Also made those that worked in the industry suddenly realized we had to up our game!
There's something about the vibrant colour contrasts in the PS2 version that make it more endearing even if the graphical power is more enhanced in the Xbox version. Edit- I own both versions.
Looking at this now and the PS2 smokes the Xbox verison pretty badly. I always thought the Xbox verison would be leagues above this when I played the PS2 one back when it was new.
I kinda like the color grading of the ps2 version in specific places. The xbox version looks miles better in terms of graphical fidelity and resolution.
En conclusión creo que merece mas la pena comprarme el de ps2 que el de xbox. En enter the matrix me conseguí el de xbox pero tampoco hay mucha diferencia
