20 minutes in and I am trying a beginner level variations but following along as best as I can. Finished it so sweaty but not too tired. My legs gave out first. xD
Great approach to rediscoverying the way the body wants to change shape when we move in support positions Kyle, there are few things more damaging than the belief that we should hold it rigid when we train. It might be an insteresting addition to the procedure to draw a spiral on the ground with the foot barely touching. This bathes the brain in incredibly accurate information, ballet dancers have nice tools, we can steal them for free and make them our own.
@@MoveWIthMendoza You are right. It's even more important to have fun. The whole pint of 'exercise' was to balance a body fatigued by repetitive work in restrictive positions (mining, weaving etc etc) across the world many genuses worked 'open source' to come up with all the great country dancing traditions. Fast forward to the latest round of bullsh1t pseudo science fuelled by (the 'exercise' ) industry and we are being encouraged to do repetitve boring sh1y in restrictive position ( 'I can't touch my toes but I've '''nearly'' got a straddle plance'....) . This has it's roots in slavery, military training designed to brain wash you into always going forward ( in a braced central position. Children know how to play, for four years or so.........
Just had a little peak up to the first break of exercises NOTE: These exercise is mobility based help u feel better flexible stronger etc - 40seconds for each exercises. This is what Kyle does nice1 I don't have a space like yours. That space is ace. Looks outside. Wish I had a tv i could take outside So I guess some guy called tabata made this?? Ok thanks Kyle
@@trulgn That's about an exercise training method comes from Dr izumi tabata. The goal was meant to combine cardio training with strength training in intervals. If you have space in your bedroom or living room, that could be good enough. Or even a backyard space and just mimic some of these movements.
@@MoveWIthMendoza tablets are ideal for this portable screens. Got an idea Kyle movement spaces like cribs I'm going to make space an outdoor space working with what I've got. Thanks "now I'm motivated!"
Ahhh the classic "You're back!" comment. I truly appreciate the supportive comment, but I NEVER left! I just stopped posting regularly and the algorithm dropped me and the things I DID post weren't pushed anymore. Check out my channel to see what you've missed! You can also help me out by commenting your thoughts on other videos or sharing them to others. All that helps me get pushed back out there and I can start a bit more regularly making content again! 🙌🏽
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lZ39FVRD7o8.htmlsi=mQioJmsA8NKKJ2vm I should probably remake a new tutorial to demonstrate the concept in a more modern way.
Leap of faith is misleading. You know, that you would make it, if you would've only believe you could make it, you wouldn't jump. No one doing Parkour would leave his life in hands of faith. Experience leads to trust in your body and confidence, which leads to jumps like this.
You're absolutely right! I would not have attempted it had I not known my own limits. I knew that the distance alone would be difficult, but thanks to the height difference I knew that with the distance + the drop, I could make it to the other side enough to not die. The faith part comes from combating that doubt in your mind of all the WHAT IFs. Many parkour athletes know what they're capable of, but I'd be lying if I said they don't combat any sense of doubt or fear.
Exactly! So terrifying. I am sure I could still take the impact as the drop wasn't too massive, it was more the distance that I had to focus on. Would be fun to find out though! lol
Shoot me an email at Kyle.Mendoza89@gmail.com and we'll discuss your intentions with training and I'll create a program catered to your needs, establish payment and coordinate schedules to get you going! 👍🏽👍🏽
This is an awesome comment! I love it when parents lead by example or participate in fitness with their children! And what a better way than to work on fun ground level coordination challenges that involve rolling, turning, going upside down. Feel free to check some of my other content and see what other challenges you both might enjoy.
@@HCoons1975 That's great though! 🙌🏽 Hopefully some of my videos will give you something fun to practice as you rebuild flexibility and mobility to keep enjoying movement! 🙏🏽
@@trombonemunroe Happy to help! I have a lot more on the way to break some of these down and make it easier to break down and understand for all skill levels. 🙌🏽
Kyle, it's nice to see you are still making videos after all these years. Your video was randomly recommended to me and it took me back 10+ Years when I was doing Freerunning myself. I remember when I texted you on Facebook asking for tips because I was too scared doing flips without a mattress outside and you actually responded; I was so surprised :) Keep up the good work!
@@imDaavz I'm honored to be remembered for this! It's always been important to me to make those connections and be present in more ways than just RU-vid videos and tutorials. Hopefully this gives you something new and fun to work on! 👍🏽
@@grizzlywizzly You're very welcome! And yes, if one has tight shoulders and previous elbow injuries, paying attention to hand placement and maintaining proper functional support through the shoulders can make this safer for you if you lack the mobility in flexibility.
I’m Owen the person who came up with this, I only found out if you use your non dominant side then it works out better, use your left hand and you’ll spin quicker
Thank you so much for this! I am really grateful I can help with so many skills. If you ever have trouble and want some more direct guidance, I have been promoting virtual lessons for those who want to learn specific skills from me and I would be happy to fill in any gaps that my tutorials can't fill.
@@Scion15 Nonsense! I bet in 3-4 private virtual lessons I could improve your mobility and teach you enough to continue practicing on your own time. The consistency of training is up to you. Luckily mobility is something you can practice every day without being so sore that you need to take a day or so off to recover. You just need to develop a routine and commit to yourself because you're worth it!
@Scion15 Well, I haven't mentioned any prices yet have I? One thing I learned is that if I have the extra money to spend on things I don't need, I have money to invest in myself. However, I can certainly recognize that some interests hold more priority than others so I understand if the idea of virtual lessons can be a bit daunting. Whenever you're ready, I am here! 💪🏽
My friend said you were posting again so had to come back here 😂. So glad to see you are still tricking!! I learned most of my basics from your videos back in the day. Love your content ❤
Thanks for checking in Chris! 🙌🏽 I never stopped training even though life got busy with family life and work, but it's been remarkable to see how far some people have taken the skills they've learned from me! As I am growing older I am realizing how important it is to me that I stay strong, mobile and capable. So I wanted to start creating content that will help others maintain their skills over time so we can all be well into our adult years and still throw some killer tricks! 💪🏽
Yoooo thank you so much for this comment. I'm grateful to have been a part of so many talented athlete journeys and it's been remarkable to watch how far they've taken the skills!
