Bonnie Bay Crochet is your one stop for learning everything from the very basics of crochet to Aran or Celtic crochet cables and beyond. Crochet author and designer Bonnie Barker will show just how easy it is to crochet!
Hello there! I've been watching you a long time and I've decided to start this awesome project! The thing is that I would like to do it smaller for a baby's crib, would it be enough to change into a smaller hook or should I adjust the foundation chain; and if so how many chains should I do for a project around 85 cm to 105cm? It would be brilliant if you could delight me! I will probably use cotton yarn , jeans yarn art if you are aware! you so much in advance!! ❤
I think this will greatly change the design. I do have some other ripple patterns in this playlist that use larger stitches: www.youtube.com/@BonnieBayCrochet/search?query=ripple%20baby%20blanket
Hi Bonnie and Hannah I missed the live😞I’m here watching the replay Congratulations Bonnie on your 36 anniversary 🎉 Love your blouse,it’s beautiful Take care God bless 🥰
I use mostly Cygnet Pato yarn it's very cheap I use it for crocheting granny square & stripe cat blankets for local animal rescues in the uk & I've never had a knot in my yarn but a friend who buys more expensive yarn has been disappointed with some she's bought had.Ive used Paintbox yarn it's lovely
Thanks for the heads up on the Paintbox yarn sale! Bought enough for my next blanket. I tried paintbox yarn on your recommendation a while ago, and fell in love with the Wool Mix Aran yarn. Its less shiny than the acrylic but not as fuzzy as the full wool, and therefore it is perfect for a reasonably priced blanket! Thanks!! I remember Michael and Jeff Shaara from my reading in my early 20s on the civil war, he and his son are great authors! Would get that book now, if I didn't already have a back-log of over 10 books to read on my shelf! The audio book is a great idea too!
I'll need to try the acrylic wool blend sometime! Glad you enjoy SHaara's writings. He is one reason I have a history major grad in our family. Looking forward to the interview together in August Noelle!
@@jodycanfield6229 this is actually the Gaithersburg Stole. I do have many blankets in this playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLoIugZBYOS0Udr7tGiPfi-17m6DSeUI02&si=W28YtHg5y7O9G_eB

What beautiful videos of such an amazing awesome creation! We went for our honeymoon and 1st anniversary. We just celebrated 42 years on the 9th. It was wonderful to share your anniversary adventure ❤ May God richly bless you with many more years together ❤❤❤
Is there a pattern that allows a wider stole/wrap? I am using a dk yarn, however I am using a much larger hook but it is still only about 15” the first .7 rows. Please advise. Thanks
Congratulations! My granddaughter, Juliana and I were there from the 4th of July through the 8th. The falls were lit up red, white and blue. God's blessings to you both for many more years🙏🏻💖
I love your channel! This pattern is so beautiful and never dreamed it could be so easy. It is so refreshing that you share your faith in non aggressive ways. Thanks again and God bless!🎉

Honestly Bonnie you don't look old enough to have been married that long. He must be a wonderful man for you to have kept your youth in tact. Happy Anniversary! ☮️🌎🌲
Its so beautiful is it possible to make this afghan larger and longer maby a size 400cm x 300cm, and how many chains. I hope you answer me back, thanks for now. LG lally 😊😊
This is such a cool project. I've lost track of stitches just like a lot of people but since round 14, I've been using stitch markers, especially for the stitches that I know are going to be harder to see by the time I finish the round and that's been a game changer so far (and color-coding stitches). Thanks so much for sharing this pattern!! I'm so excited to see how my throw turns out :)
Personally, not for under $500. Even at that price it is a steal of a deal when considering all the time to crochet this. (Approx. 40 hours, which is still less per hour than fast food workers make here.) I know many sell for less on Etsy, but that I their choice. In the past I used to sell at craft shows, but had to stop because other crafters (yes, crocheters) undervalued their work and drove the selling prices lower than what I could by materials.
Bonnie, thank you for tthis. I love your patterns. I have your Celtic afghan book. It is so clear, and full of gorgeous projects. And it is amazing to be able to watch your videos when I'm just not too sure. I love your video style. You get right to the point without filling half the video with goofy chat, yet I know that you are a lovely warm person. ❤
This stunningly beautiful & a wonderful reminder of our Lord & His sacrifice for us as well as the love of God giving us His only Son.I absolutely have to do this throw. Thank you so much!! May God continue to bless you & keep you & make His face to shine upon you.

@@helenhowe8098 that could be complicated and would require a redesign. Here’s a playlist of several cabled baby blankets you may want to consider that are already available on my channel: ru-vid.com/group/PLoIugZBYOS0UvZEL_YetrKZCvAXLvzPVB&si=BRB3Bu_JASrgCj5W
