Would have bought my third Tikka Blue model Varmint 8 twist BUT they are no longer available. The CZ may shoot lighter bullets, but I bought it to shoot heavy long bullets per its 7 twist. The groups really got wild with the heavier powder amounts/velocity. This Alpha should be good for closer range hunting but my Vortex American Eagle 60 x at 100 yds and my best effort at precision reloading tells me "Not for competition". Thats all I have to say.
Well Rawhawg The .223 Alpha 600 barrel had rust in one of the grooves ahead of the lead and a pit in the one land at mid barrel . The top of one of the lugs rubs the barrell. It wont shoot a standard accuracy load of 24 Varget and a 77 SMK. I did correct a contact point of the stock to barrell with bedding ahead of the action. I heavied up the stock at the butt and for end. Range of base to ogive lengths varied from jam to .015 " off, Tried Benchmark and 8208 also with fully prepped and annealed Lapua and Hornady brass. The final last string shot six 77's left to right all touching , no verticle but at 1 1/4 " start to finish. Depending on bore cleanliness tomorrow will be an entirely different group. I believe that the barrel was poorly stress relieved. Compared to my Tikka 8 twist varmint, which shoots absolute bug holes this alpha isn't even close. I bought the alpha to replace my about worn out Tikka which I shoot every week during the competition season. I will not go through a pissing contest with Anyone at CZ.
Man you been working your butt off. Sounds like you shoulda just got another Tikka! I’ve heard real good things about tikka and that may be my next rifle. The negatives I’ve heard about the alpha starting to scare me on CZ. Let me know what you get lined out if you wouldn’t mind. Good luck!
I bought a Alpha 600 in .223 Rem one month ago, shot about 200 rounds thru it and it ranked number one in inconsistency out of any rifle I've owned. All meticulously reloaded ammo with SMK 77's and mostly Varget. Contacted CZ and did not get a response like they said they would "be back to you soon"
I didn’t know this was a deal breaker for some. If I would have only shot 2 more times on the 2 rounds of 3 shot groups. I will def note this and next time (especially 17) I will do 5 shot groups moving forward.
That's just a regular pro tactical, not a jm. Jm has a longer barrel and literally says jm right on the receiver. I have a thunder ranch 18.5 just the the one pictured
I have this rifle in 223/556. Consistently getting 0.4moa groups with Hornady 75gr Superformance BTHP. Added the Mcarbo trigger spring kit and its phenomenal. Bushnell Match Pro ED in an Arken mount. JKL bag rider. Dead Air brake. Also added a bolt lift kit and replaced the bolt knob with the glades armory. Wrapped the cheek piece in adhesive neoprene for a softer feel. You just can't beat that kind of accuracy in a MDT chassis for $800.
I think the 930s are now discontinued The 940 is very nice I feel an improvement with the gas system. I need to do a full review on this thing. Jerry M has his name on this thing and backs em and mossberg has been making shottys for a while. I need to put more rounds through mine but so far so good.
Cannot wait for the cheapo looking white writing "trend/fad/movement" to perish. Big over-compensating advertisement. More plastic, less metal and big white logo. When will craftsmanship start "trending" again?
The MDT chassis are pretty slick. They did drop the price for the whole thing to around 800$ last I checked. I feel that’s worth it for sure. It might have come up some but for 800$ def a deal
It’s got to sting when you sit down next to a average Tikka. Then get destroyed after buying one of the tactical precision rifles. I’ve seen it to many times now.
Not really impressed… you demonstrated that you can hit milk jugs at 100 yards Then review your AR lower which has no relevance to the AA uppper. How about a 5 shot group on paper to see how accurate it is at 100 yards?
Wait till you see volume 2! I shoot a hair out of a gnats crack at 1000….first shot! I did do a 3 shot at 100 holes touching shooter error on the 3rd. I talked about the lower because it is a complete AA rifle and an AA lower so they kind of go together. Although I prob should have done a 5 shot but the rifle is solid for what it is.
@@RawHawgI have no complaints at all. My EDC prior was a G43 and G19 for the colder months. I find the 365 easier to carry than the G19 and don’t notice a significant difference compared to the G43. Appendix carry with a QVO tactical holster.
@@RawHawg ok....well....certainly was not aware of that move....never heard of it..... far as i know they closed the doors in the US due to law suits and other issues.... and no longer exist....
So far no reply but it is sunday. I pull the lever mechanism most of the way out the bottom and noticed there is a little magnet underneath the bolt down by the loading arm. On mine it had come out and was standing vertical so it wouldn't let the bolt go back. With a little finesse I got it back where it was supposed to be and now it will open and close but it did not eject some of the test rounds. Will need a range day to test it out
This one I believe it is one push. The front keypad turns yellow type in the code you want and you’re good. Been a minute since I have put a code in it. I can double check though.
Thank you for making this video. Very helpful and great camera angles so we can see what you want to show us. Seems simple to some people but there's some details like, "make sure the hammer is cocked" that can make this so called simple job a real pain if you miss that important step. Thanks again!
lol reading the box "it says it rises 1,5 inches high" lol, you zero it to be 1.5 inch high an then the numbers correspond to a roughly poi/drop , but i sure you knew that
Did I say something on there you mis interpreted? Ballistics on the box are the ballistics out of their gun and barrel length and conditions of the companies gun the cartridge is being tested. It’s a guideline yes.
The A300 is pretty slick no doubt. I am a mossberg fan boy so I went with them and they been making shottys for a minute now. Wish I could do a comparison with the two
I will have to direct you to my full video with pricing and links on the channel. It’s riveting from start to finish. Follow on X @rawhawg as well. They limiting things here
I know it’s late, but what sight setup do you have (brand and model wise)? I am getting my a1 in a day or two and want ghost rings, but don’t know what’s best
