Welcome to the "Out There" channel. I am passionate about the outdoors and love to adventure "Out There". While fly fishing is my primary outdoor activity, I also do some mountaineering, rock climbing, backpacking, etc. I am not keeping any secrets, I want you to know where I went, what gear I used and how I used it. I hope you will join me on my journey as we get "Out There"

Thank you for posting this vid with somewhat specific locations. I am a local guy who has been skunked more often than not, and at this point just desperate to find something with gills. I don't keep fish, kill fish, or leave trash. Others will say "oh you ruined our secret spot!" but they are delusional.
Most of the videos are from California. I'm in Tennessee now. Should get some new stuff soon. Going back to CA next month. So I'll do a bunch of prospecting, then.
@@outtherefishingandprospect4521 awesome! I live in San Francisco and in Santa Fe. I go both fly fishing and gold hunting in California, New Mexico and Colorado. What parts of California?
Great video! Gonna be up in the pacific grade area this weekend wondering if you could let me know if hermit valley is worth my time or maybe another spot. I don’t mind hiking a couple miles in fyi thanks
Great video Mr Sandman. I have been going here since I was two. I have been back packing all over the place here. Not sure if you been to different places to fish. But there are a lot of places to go. I caught a 29 inch German brown. If you want the picture feel free to ask.
March 1,2024 today I was checking on sierra show and found caple creek and googled for fishing. And found your videos. Great stuff thanks. Liked and subscribed. I want to learn how to fly fish now
Great Video! If this is the Creek I am thinking it is. They just rebuilt the Bridge Crossing there. You would hardly recognize it. Anyway, Great Tips and good Fishing!
Mccloud is a Beautiful river with amazing fishing!!! Great video! That catch in the teal blue water is something out of a dream. That first fish was a beast too. I’d count that as a LDR as well although I wish I could see it up close. Side note: remember to wet your hands when handling the fish! If you did off-camera I’m sure a great portion of the audience would appreciate it if you made it obvious on. camera when you do so people can follow your example!
Love the snuffer bottle. Used mine to do about an hour of sniping last weekend. Got over 2 grams in the snuffer. The bottle rebounds perfectly. It has way more suction than all my other snuffers. Once my gold is in the bottle no way I'm losing it. I have accidently knocked off the bulb losing gold on my other snuffers while crawling along bedrock in the river. Your design is so solid its like a gold vault. I Highly recommend this snuffer bottle. 👍👍🐾🐾
Congrats on the super sweet find! Those nuggets were awesome. They had good coarse texture. Dodnt appear to have spent mich time timbling about in the rivet. Definitely would call for more nearby sampling.
I have no interest in fishing but still found this interesting. Looks like a cool fishing setup. Been following you for you gold prospecting. Love your simple and informational delivery of it. Would love to see some more sniping. I recently got into sniping and chose a bad time to get into it as water levels are crazy. still been out on 2 nice adventures but yet to bring some gold home. Im headed to the forest hill area in two days and hopefully will bring some color home. Hopefully getting some comments on here can help your algorithm and send you some more views. You have some good stuff!
Thanks, Forest hill is a good area. I live in Tennessee now so that has decreased my sniping. But every time I go back to California I try to get some video. Remember if the spot you are digging requires a hammer or bar to clean out it is a good sign. If you are finding lead or iron you are looking in the correct places. Good luck thanks for the views.
@@outtherefishingandprospect4521 Oh thats quite a move! Is there much to prospect out there? Every time my wife and i talk about moving out of California Tennessee comes up. Best of luck!
@@bbunch44 not any prospecting yet. There is some but not like California. LDMA has a few locations out here. The first gold rush was in north Carolina. And Tennessee had one too.
Great videos ! I reached out to you before to see if you would guide a newbie for a fee in the norther California area? I love fly fishing and would like to get into prospecting too.
Wow, that's what I call an adventure although maybe not fun until you pull into your driveway, lol. I have to give you props for even pulling out one trout in that wind, lesser men would have turned back. You were out there in the dark chopping downfalls by yourself, hope you had an equalizer as there are plenty of bears and cougars in that area.
Thanks it was rough. But it's one of my most memorable trips. "Suck is the factor by which all of life's greatest achievements are defined!" And at least I had an axe.
Great video. i recently got the gold fever and gathering sniping supplies. thanks for showing your content for me to learn from. I think i will be in a 20 or thirty mile radius of where you are. Thanks again for the content.
Just a suggestion. Wet your hands before handling the trout and keep them in the water (nets are good for safely controlling the fish) to avoid injury when releasing. Thank you. Otherwise, looks like a fun, if not arduous, trip.
