Mechanically fastened is a better system. Adhesives break down over time.

Roofing more interesting every day even after 34 years of it

Do you glue it to the plywood/concrete as well? Do you tape it? Do you need to put plywood over it or can you just put the metal roof on top?

And what kind of adhesive is that?

Low rise foam

I was wondering the same thing. With a little freeze frame of the video and a Google search, found this - OlyBond500 Insulation Adhesive is a fast-acting, two-component, low-rise polyurethane foam adhesive designed to secure insulation to roof decks

half the comments here are from scabs and morons ,that tapered is installed 100% correctly ,the insulation that gets staggered is base layers and finish layers overlaying the tapered system ,all you morons claiming you MUST STAGGER try explaining how to stagger a tapered system consisting of X & Y panels with 1" and 2 inch fill ,c'mon and explain ,I'm dying to hear how you stagger . As you can see they are staggering what they can ,not all seams can be staggered ,especially in a 4 way taper system as you see here ,most of you haven't even installed a tapered system ,you layer panels where your foreman told you & never had to think things thru ,this system is 100% correct ,even the waiting time for the adhesive to rise before laying tapered panels & their use of weight to prevent curling . Good job guys ,it's a small system but still nice ,I've done an 11,000 square fully tapered system with A,B,C,D,2 inch fill and x & Y crickets so I know what I'm looking at .

They arent staggering the 3rd row of 2 inch fill from the 2nd where they poured the olybond. That has to be staggered. On the 2nd row you see they started with a half of an X board (which is right) but ideally the full Y board that would sit behind it would be on top a staggered 2" fill.

yea definitely need to stagger the insulation, and their is usually a heavy roller someone should be rolling the ISO down with. although the glue cans do work too, but it's alot more moves.

the roller works? how long per piece of iso, and is there multiple passes. right now I'm the guy moving buckets

you need to stagger your joints in both directions. you should also be using ballast to hold the iso down until the olybond fully cures.

You should be staggering the joints. Also not sure if you realized it or not but the insulation has "This side down" printed on it and you put it right side up. There is a reason for the wording.

They also have instructions for asphalt shingles where to drive the nails on the package specifically, and it appears as though many roofers don’t read that.
