This was indeed a wonderful visit by your deer friends! It's been quite awhile since I've had such visits, lately only the doe and their fawns have been around. Such handsome bucks and playful fawns, who I'm surprised to see still have a few spots. I really am overjoyed knowing that you are getting to witness these deer, the same species as I have, in all their glory! What a fantastic time you must have being able to be with them as a friend and watch how they behave almost as if you weren't there.
It has been really amazing. Bear in mind this video is about a month ago. I’m really backed up on the editing! It takes a lot of time, in particular the sound. The iPad has bad mics for outdoor filming and no way to fix that. I’ve really got to go to regular cameras but I so love being able to shoot and begin the editing while sitting and relaxing with the deer. Apple will never make a truly professional iPad. Ok, rant finished! It has been many a lovely time with the deer. The skies have been amazing as well. The whole thing is leaving me wide eyed in amazement. It is however changing as the days get shorter. Today was an extraordinary one and everyone came earlier except for the bucks who came after sunset. I like hanging out with them at night too but I can’t see much and filming is out. But it’s nice to be with them especially if the moon is bright. All the fawns are much bigger now. Sleek and gray as their winter coat starts to build up. I posted a video on 9/25 that shows Twin’s fawn Grayson as he looks now. He’s really beautiful. He looks like a racehorse. But posting that out of sequence is a one off. I’m trying to stay sequential so as not to confuse everyone. There is over a months worth of videos that are assembled but not yet finish edited that will be coming and that tells the evolving story. I hope all is well with you and your little ones. Hope that neck wound is healing good. Deer generally heal pretty quickly. 🌿🌝🦌

It’s getting rarer now that they all come at once but I sure enjoy it when they do. I’m all stocked up except for apples. Running low! They’re really loving apples these days. All the fawns except Phaedra love them. She hasn’t yet developed a taste for them for some reason. 🌿🌝🦌
Ambre,...Thanks. I thought it fit well. Grayson is looking so beautiful these days. So sleek and refined. He amazes me. He loves apples too. When I get the slices going he’s like in heaven. It’s going to be beautiful to watch them all grow. 🌿🌞🦌
Winter is coming, and they seem to be dominating the food source. The fawns are adorable, playfully mimicking the elders and finding their place in the herd. So sweet ❤
@@shereeroth191 it has been amazing. I’ve been spending time with them way past sunset, just sitting quietly and either just observing or slicing apples. Very beautiful moments with these amazing spirits. 🌹🌹🌹

Ambre,…It was great to see the fawns so happy and having a great time as they become more confident around everyone. I love seeing Virginia and her little fawn. She brings her more and more and we’re getting lots of great video of her. She’s finally developed a taste for apples and is just beginning to partake in the grains. 🌿🌝🦌

Ambre,...I’m glad I was in place to catch all that. That is one of I think three raccoons left that still comes around. I had given up hope that anyone was going to have babies as it usually happens in June. Big surprise! Those two little ones are so sweet! New life comes to the decrepit deck! And I was actually thinking of taking my screen in to get fixed! The last batch of babies tore it all apart playing. Now I’m wondering if we’re going to see more. It was pretty funny seeing Mother go up and bring the babies down. They went up there with such ease, the youngest kits I’ve ever seen do that. But coming down was another story. I guess that’s why they were there for so long in that one spot. Now they know how to get down! 🌝🦝🦝

@@shereeroth191 Not always. She can be very relaxed and amazing to hang out with. For some reason, everyone gets their ire up whenever Virginia comes around. Virginia seems alright to me. I really like her. But as soon as Micro sees her she gets the dagger eyes. I really don’t think I’ll ever understand deer social behavior. I’m trying to understand it, but it’s tough. In some ways they have relatable human attributes, and in other ways they have a very selfish side. It’s not just Micro either. Twin was a very mild mannered, timid doe who used to get bullied all the time. Since she’s had her fawn she’s turned that around. She doesn’t take it from anyone. But now she even has a bullying side, especially when it comes to Virginia. I only see these guys for a relatively short time so I have no idea if they go off and convene elsewhere and give each other dagger eyes. The lives of deer are pretty strange.

That was White Ears delivering that bop to Virginia’s little fawn. You can always tell White Ears from Little Buck by that one split point on his right antler. I don’t know why the deer act like that with the little fawns. They’re very particular about their food and how close others are to them. Sometimes they’re ok with it and there are tender moments, and sometimes they bop or worse. Everyone seems to have a go at Virginia so I guess her fawn is included in that. It upsets me. Between shots I’m berating them when they do that. There’s just no reason for it. It’s probably territorial to some extent. Virginia for some reason is not included with the herd and is considered somewhat of an outsider. But I love her and her tiny fawn and I make sure she gets grains and apples as she’s real hungry! Deer life is a mystery for sure. 🌿🌝🦌
That’s what I was thinking. He really looks great. I’m glad he comes by. He has a really peaceful personality. I’ve never had one come by with babies. That would be something!
@@soarornor I have a strange possum story. My last house was in the woods. One day I discovered a huge amount of dirt had been removed from beneath the large pad under the AC unit. The large hole was smooth and deep. The dirt had been hauled away as the area around the hole was clean. The AC was being supported only at the four corners. It took three large wheelbarrows of dirt to refill the hole. A couple of days later my basement had a water leak from the inside AC unit. I discovered the condensation drain tube was stopped up. It drained outside the house right beside the AC pad. The copper tube had been packed with straw and sticks at the drain end. I had to cut off 18 inches of the tube to open it. A neighbor suspected a possum had dug out a den and the plugged the drain to keep it dry. He said possums would haul the dirt away in their sack. I don’t know about that, but I do believe that particular possum had an engineering degree!
@@georgemuse4582 Wow! That’s amazing. Especially taking the dirt away. I’ve never seen any baby possums around here. I just discovered that one of my raccoon friends had had a couple of babies. She brought them to show me tonight. Couldn’t believe it! The raccoon numbers have gone way down and it’s been kind of lonely out there. So out of the blue my raccoon friend brought her kits with her. Wonderful little ones. Couldn’t believe my fortune tonight. Full moon. Lots of crickets. And two new lives to add to the mix. Perfect! 🦝🦝🦝🌝🦝🦝🦝
@@wekebu Yeah, I love that sound. Unfortunately, no kits this year. A lot of the raccoons have dispersed for some reason. This was definitely the height of their presence. A real banner year.

Ambre,...Yeah, this atmosphere of Pacific Northwest summer with the deer is an extraordinary thing. To be a part of it for those moments is a real treat. There are still many videos from August and early September to complete, but the current time is bringing shorter and shorter days and way less visitors. Changes. Always changes. But still much more to come although I don’t know how everything will shake out once the fall arrives followed by winter. 🌿🌝🦌

Ambre,..Yeah, that was an interesting day. That last shot of the twins laying down was a lucky one. They were very relaxed and not afraid of me coming by to get that one. It was the perfect closer along with the clouds. I’ve got to get prepared for more rain because that time of the year is coming. 🌿🌝🦌

@@georgemuse4582 They take it in stride. Nothing seems to bother them except for each other. I can see their winter coats are slowly forming, getting ready for the long, wet season.
Ambre,...Yeah, I really love those two bucks. White Ears is really a magnificent man. He’s just stunning. Very regal. I’m amazed at how the two are starting to engage (almost reluctantly) in their head to head, antler to antler fighting. I hope they don’t ever get into that seriously, but they might. That’s what the bucks do to determine who mates with who. It can get very ugly and bloody. (I’ve only seen videos of this). Even worse, sometime they end up locked together and can’t free themselves. They end up dying unless someone comes along and frees them. I’m so hoping that these two will not go in that direction. I always saw them as friends. I don’t want to see them as enemies and challengers. There are more than enough Does for them to mate with. I guess we might see this all unfold in the autumn or the winter. 🌿🌝🦌
Ambre,...Yeah, I really love them. They’re just amazing to be around. I think they totally compliment the herd but the degree to which the adults mistreat them from time to time is surprising. Deer social behavior is very hard to understand! 🌿🌝🦌

Ambre,..There have been some amazing, atmospheric days in the last month with beautiful clouds and sunsets. It’s the peak time. I’ve never seen any of the deer fight like Micro and Little Buck did. I’m glad they didn’t get real serious about it and it was all over fast. I love Virginia and her little fawn but the other does don’t seem to like her for some reason. I’ve even seen Florian go after her fawn and throw her to the ground! She’s 3/4 the size of the others. Deer really have the oddest social life. 🌿🌝🦌

Hard to believe that autumn is very close. Trees are turning colors. Getting dark earlier. I shudder at the idea of darkness at 5 PM. Still, more beautiful moments to come. 🌿🦢🦢🦢
The rejection thing seems so prominent in deer life. I don’t understand why. It hurts me to see this, but some days are better than others. Poor Little One has been going through quite a lot of this with Mother. I think it really hurts and confuses her. I hope this eventually shakes out. 🌿🌝🦌
