For people who don’t know, this is the O.G. relic. Cunetto was contracted by Fender to relic guitars after successfully fooling dealers at a guitar show with a fake 50’s Strat with Gold Hardware, more a comment on the runup of vintage prices in the 1990’s than attempt to make a fortune by throwing keys at the guitar. This guy knows his stuff!
Thank you very much Robert ! Appreciated your comments and I too highly recommend people to look into these Cunetto period guitars , really amazing !! Lots of info on the web and Fender forums ;)
Hi there. Great vid. If I want to integrate the fm3 into my existing board, can it still run stereo out? I do have an amp profiler on my board. Can I have both of these running? Can I have both as running two amps? I know that’s possible in the fm9 having two amp blocks but I’m trying to get around that by using my simplifier by dsm Humboldt.
Hi there ! YES : you can run it stereo out…. Just put the FM3 last in the chain and you have XLR outs to go to FOH / mixer and stuff. You can also have your Profiler running : just don’t use the Amp + Cab blocks….. 2 amps : for sure - your profiler will be on the input of the FM3 ( pan it L ) and pan the FM3 amp + cab block R for example….. many options !!
@@Anandmahangoe thank you for this! So can I put my drive before my profiler, then have my wet effects run in the effects loop of the profiler (Simplifier Mk2), then out of that I can go into the FM3 to go stereo out? The simplifier also allows me to go stereo out to FOH. Really trying hard to not get the fm9 if not needed and I can essentially do the same thing with the double amp blocks that it runs but in my case I’m trying to use another profiler. Hope I made sense
@@gabrieladdenbrooke1964 YES !! You can do it all as you described ….. just make sure you use the right input block and use every block in the FM3 stereo
I have both. For regular guitar I can't hear much of a difference (although I prefer the response/immediacy of the Peterson's tuning) but I also play Pedal Steel and that's where I REALLY noticed the difference in buffers. The polytune still makes my Steel sound like I'm not using a buffer at all (muffled & midrangey) but the Peterson buffer with it is night & day. I think it's due to the Peterson's ability to handle much the higher impedance of typical pedal steel pickups (about 20k)
Thank you very much man, really appreciated .....Glad you can hear it with the FX and to me they also sound very natural and very happy to use them....But I do understand the other side too...they want to hear the dry sounds to compare while I like to compare even with the FX as I did enough dry comparison before I recorded this video :)
In the mix, the 88's are finer. The 34's has more lower end (100/80hz),beautifull, but it disturb the frequence of the essential basedrum and bas and that mixes the sounbalance restless and muddy.
Thank you very much man for your detailed comment and yes, I also prefer the EL34 now in my new amp and in the mix I should have perhaps made more place for the bass drum/ bass guitar…. I have always a lowcut on my guitars of 100hz to avoid these kind of things…. , thanks again appreciated !!
@@Anandmahangoe welcome, that low-cut button is very essential then, it gives you more energy in the mid-range, that energy that you put in the busy lows without button.
Cleans the Marvell wins by a mile, clearer, sparklier, and still not edgy or jagged. Overdriven... The Friedman is more pleasing to the ear in some ways, but it's also muddier and messier because of the additional low end. I think the Marvell would stand up to a busy mix better.
I completely agree with you mate !! Cleans are awesome and the overdrive sits better in a band mix for sure ! And the price tag is also much less ;) thanks !!
I just received my ri Jubilee. It looooves my Marshall 412 with v30s. By try sounded very underwhelming with my Marshall 412 with g12t75s. Wish I’d had the v30 cab 20 Years ago. Would’ve saved me a WHOLE bunch of buying selling and trading headaches.
Ah congrats man , really awesome to hear and YES : the V30s are the best match and really brings out its strength ….much better than Greenbacks and other speakers ! Really happy to hear you are digging this awesome amp ! They say the PERFECT cab is its matching Jubilee cab with V30s…… you should perhaps try them too ?
Thank you very much man, glad You liked it ! I have used them both in the video and it is written which part was which in case you prefer a certain sound. I liked the 2x12 1966 cab from OH Marshall…… now they have it also in a very good sounding new 4x12 Marshall EV !
Hi Anand , great video. keep em coming! .. soryy if I already asked this question however, how much similarity between the Jub and AxeFx do you feel is attributed to using the same IR?
Thank you very much man !! Of course it helps in the comparison but nonetheless the Fractals Silver comes very close especially if you would like to dig into the advanced parameters. With just the normal BMTP knobs one can already easily get that full body tone like a Silver Jube. But I still prefer the real tube amp especially with its amazing Cleans which the Fractal does not model……the drive channel is little difference in tone…. In ‘feel’ that’s something I prefer of the tube amps.
Thanks man and YES , it does NOT sound like a Classic Tele :) That was exactly why I swapped the original pickups because those sounded like a real Tele. I want a Tele for more Rock kind of stuff and full of body instead of the Country style sounds…..and still if one plays country style with it, it would easily sound like a ‘classic’ tele ;)
Anand, as you know, dozens Tele’s came through my hands, but there’s just one thing I don’t like about this Tele …. It isn’t mine!!! 🤣😍 ... F**king amazing guitar!! I'm so happy for you! ❤
Thank you for your kind words man ! That’s a very tricky question : I am quite often experimenting between the KW - GB Classic Rock - GNR M25 …… the GNR M25 has for now the best sounds especially in a band mix ! It has very powerful mids which helps to hear the guitar better……I always use the 57-121 mix….. enjoy !
The way high and low frequencies obey their own rules rather than mess with each other is very attractive to me. The EL34 sound is, by comparison, one dimensional, take it or leave it. The KTs would suit my playing, giving much more touch control and a better chording experience, particularly with complex harmonies.
@@artysanmobile it is all good my friend , in the right hands they all sound amazing. The KTs do have the more dimensional thing for sure, no argument about that ;)
@@artysanmobile I am sorry my friend but don't understand where to put your comment in the video...English is not my native tongue...if I wrote that ok...;)
f*ck TC Electronic. they've made some cool pedals, but their quality control was trash... I can't imagine it has changed. I've had multiple Flashbacks (original, X4), Hall of Fame 1 & 2, and Ditto X2 & X4... ALL of them have had issues, from the Ditto X4 being DOA new out of the box, to footswitch failures on most, and my Hall of Fame 2 just died randomly a couple weeks ago... I paid nearly $200 for it when it came out. in contrast, I still have my first pedals from the 90s and they all work without any issue (DOD Phaser, Cry Baby, TR-2, PN-2, and even the dirt, dirt cheap FabTone by Danelectro... all still work just fine). the ONLY TC Electronic products that haven't given me any problems (yet...) are my PolyTune 2 Noir and PolyTune Clip. they are pretty cool tuners, but the Peterson stomp and clip tuners are better IMO. P.S. F*CK TC ELECTRONIC, BEHRINGER, AND WHOEVER OWNS THEM NOW (forget the name, but f*ck them anyway). is my bitterness apparent enough? 😂
Found a spotless 2020 Heritage Cherry Sunburst second hand recently for £400 with a hardcase on ebay, beautiful sounds, like the options it comes with. Adds something different
I think the Polytune ever so slightly retain the volume better, Peterson have 5Mohm input which is because it's supposed to work well with other instruments than guitar to like basses. The ideal input Ohm is 1Mohm for guitar so the Polytune is better as a buffer for guitars.
Thank my friend and I fully agree with the numbers you mentioned. Those should be the right ones for a good buffer BUT when comparing their sound and judging with my ears and taste of sound, I prefer the Peterson. Nothing wrong but either one of them of course …. Just a taste for a sound which comes as close to the guitar - amp signal .
@@Anandmahangoe Hm when listening again on my PC i think the Peterson sound more like going straight into the amp. On my phone it was opposite! Do you have any software that can compare the soundwaves and see which is most authentic?
@@GabrielSkolderbladyes, the Peterson sounds more like going straight into the amp without the extra high frequencies of the Polytune buffer I guess. No, no software except for my ears.
