My understanding: (I think he's actually saying "vanda," for "oath," rather than the name Varda, but everywhere with the lyrics says otherwise?) I was [context: I swore] an oath; [I was oathsworn?]; I broke it; Darkness ahead. O Vala, What you said was true; O Vala; true indeed. ("e" in Quenya functions like the Greek γε) It makes sense to me that anen, "I was," can also cover the meaning "I did," since other languages do this, but I can't find any evidence of it in Tolkien's writings. The language doesn't have to be perfect for this song to be completely miserable, anyway. Ah, poor Maglor... who will release you?
I remember fighting a siege battle on Prophesy of Pendor 6 years ago, defending the city of Marleons from the Baccus Empire, heavily outnumbered, it was something like 6000 vs 700 of us. Battle took around an hour or so in real life, we killed around 4000 of them but lost in the end, all my troops were dead, and as soon as the battle ended this music started playing. I just looked at the casualties screen, seeing all my people dead while the saddest song in existence was playing in the background. Don't think I'll ever forget that moment lol.
[Míriel Þerindë:] From now I say farewell Just look for once at your sweet son Your Fëanor Curufinwë as you Please give him all my love My life is gone Forgive From here you'll go alone.
I imagine if it was adapted into a film or series on the First Age a scene, where it takes place at the mouth of the Sirion. We follow the last elves having just escaped Morgoth's troops after the destruction of Gondolin, they are prey to despair as the darkness approaches. As dawn breaks, they see dark silhouettes on the horizon and hear sounds similar to songs carried in the distance. And as the sun rose and the shadows grew closer, they saw ships shaped like swans arriving occupied by elves dressed in shiny armor singing the song from the video. A song which both strengthens the morale of the troops but also sends a message of hope to the free people and finally a warning to Morgoth telling him "We are here!" in references to the Valar troops. And the loudest voice that we can hear at 0:38 and 1:45 is that of Eönwë in the lead. And then the end of the episode (personally I would find it epic) PERSONAL OPINION
Ahh... The song song I call "Oh, there's around hundred of them, and with some twilight knights. Ok fellas, it is time for 3 hundred heavy cavalryman Normandy landing style suicide charge. LET'S GOOOOO!!! "
There's definitely a song here. No idea about what ads play or don't, I've had YT premium for so many years I've forgotten what youtube ads even look like 😅.
I love Lind Erebros but it seems his website is now defunct. How does one contact this man? I want to ask him if he is willing to license his music and things like that.
I always use the Noldor lord whenever I commit Order 66 against my original faction. Being marshal, dumping Sarleon's armies into battle against the Noldor lord, then rebel (as female) and join Aeldarian = capture 12+ lords in a single day.
Although he is the creator of all the musics in sf series , how is he so underrated?? Not insulting but strange songs like amongus get too much famous rather than these legendary soundtracks 😭😭😭
Best , 10 years i fascinate this. For Slovakian fan. I've been listening to it for cca 10 years, but it's not better than this song. And nobody even knows the name of Lind Erebros. it's a shame, very good and thematic music for the film as well, I think personally. and Valar glory is too beautiful song, to my heart.
