I don’t like the song for the moment of walking down the aisle. This song fits for a dance, but not for a bridal procession. It just seems out of place.
My favourite Classic Doctor - died before I was even born but he lives on through his stories and the influence he's had on the revival, which I suspect he'd have loved.
The description is incorrect. Liverpool had played 2 games since Boxing Day, not one. It was Southend away in the FA Cup and at home in the replay (which I went to).
You can see what a lovely gentleman he was always very appreciative of his fans, I must admit I stopped watching Dr Who after he left and will always be to me the best Doctor, God Bless him 🙏
I met Jon a few months before this in the March and he did look quite poorly at the time but still put on a good show. He looked much better here and on good form with the fans (as usual). The fact he died so soon afterwards was quite shocking. RIP Jon, my favorite Doctor.
These guys were performing in front of this famous flag on the IOW 22 years before Boris Johnson and Liz Truss and did a better job. Always a great tune thanks Simon, Pete, Wozy, Bobby
I am a huge fan of DW, and I heard him during this footage talking about the new book coming out in October, which was titled Doctor Who: I am the Doctor - Jon Pertwee's Final Memoir, the Snowman adaptation stage show he planned to do at Christmas, and the DW movie which aired later that month on May 27, all of which he sadly never got to see, do, or experience. 😢 But I am pretty sure, with DW now approaching its 60th anniversary special and celebrations, that he and the other Doctors who are no longer with us, Hartnell, Troughton and the War Doctor John Hurt would all be very proud of how far the show has come. RIP to all of the Doctors who have passed away, and thanks for uploading this video! 👍
WOW! Fantastic footage. I was at the game, 11 years old and my very first Liverpool match. It's been hard to find much information on the game over the years, but this is a great film - thanks for posting.
A famous person once said 'Hindsight is a wonderful thing' and indeed this was. This footage is amazing to watch and also sad knowing he died 18 days after this meeting. You are a legend for filming and having this footage thank you. RIP Jon Pertwee otherwise known as the Doctor and Worzel Gummidge.
I remember seeing his show in Derby and I got him to sign a couple of CD booklets at some event he did there too. Seems to long ago now. He seems to be in good health here. Apparently he died from a heart attack - 20th May - whilst on holiday with his wife (Connecticut).
