I like the idea around this, lots of tension, you can tell that it's building to something, very effective there. I love the opening shot, zooming out on the front door to the main character, great visuals right there. Then when he walks away, it really begs the question of, what and who is he so afraid of, great stuff. The context about Simon and his depression about his ex felt a little forced, they both knew that. It would have been best to show that organically. The thing I'm wondering about is, why did he go into the friends house at all? If that was me, I'd be expecting something bad and would make the excuse he made near the end about his Grandma. Tell him i had to go off to the other side of the city to get her meds at this late hour. Ultimately, he wants to see the woman he loves, his friend's gf, he doesn't need to visit his friend to achieve that. They spend a lot of the time just talking about stuff…why? why is that in the film? To watch Simon’s state of mind crumble? Yeah, that makes sense there, in that moment, but it would have been better served if the main character was there because he had to be, I don’t see why he should be. I don’t believe he would be. The fact he drinks it because it’s going to waste makes no sense, sorry to be blunt. It goes against everything he just said. Isn’t the character at all suspicious to take a drink off the man who’s bird he’s taken? Come on. How naive is this guy? Had you of set up that this guy, somehow, hates drink going to waste, okay, but not like this. The main character is the friend, why? because he has the most essential context for this story. His goal is to (though not clear till near the end) exact revenge on his friend, because his friend is seeing his ex, he wants justice. The other character, the intended main character, if I'm correct on that, is just to go along with what his friend has planned, ultimately to just react to what his friend says and does, rather than be pro active, try to achieve something, establish some strong essential context for the story, to make it compelling. If I'm being totally honest, because there is no strong context from the main character, it's hard to get invested in this. If he just wants to go and see his girl, why should I care what happens? why is it so bad he died in the end? i never felt why it mattered to him, this character. i know, no one wants to die, but that is not compelling nor interesting for a story, it needs more compelling, specific context. Great idea, just better specifics.
Even if all that u say is true we are still left with a story about how we keep secrets from even those close to us. How many couples conceal the fact they are unfaithful to each other - even only once in their marriage.. and yet they sit down to dinner every evening and one is keeping his or her secret from the other... knowing that its all over if the other finds out! This story is about trying to stay friends with someone who we have secretly betrayed in the worst possible way. It begs the question as to why we have dinner with someone we have betrayed. It shines a light on how profoundly dishonest human nature can be. Sadly the "spiker" told his pal on the phone at the end what he had done... which will see him locked up... thought he chap who took the drink insisted on taking it and so a good lawyer should get him off! Hope so. Great movie. And great acting.
Sorry for thumbs down - I love Irish horror films but this one took too long and really didn't have much of a storyline to anticipate. Acting was good though!
Fabulous short. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I appreciated how we expect them to die when they split up. And so many unanswered questions! Keep making more of these. The details were gripping!
Wasn't bad, left me with questions about woman was it really a woman or the kid because he disappeared or she got him but we never heard that insane scream??? Just wondering🤔
I think what pissed me off about this short the most was how the one dude kept telling the other one to "shut the door," when he could have done it himself! Grrrrr😡🤬😡🤬
I know that's right, because my friend would've brought out the score cards watching me flipping over that couch and slamming that door freaking shut! Hell. even the killer lady would've been outside cheering for me and tapping the knife on the window "GO HEAD SIS, U DID THAT?" 😂🤣
I agree and then the other dude standing there while she stabbed his friend. Some people act when faced with danger. Some people freeze up. But the girl definitively gave off supernatural vibes so I am not sure the door or the guy jumping on her would’ve helped much. Great movie tho. It really had that vibe from HS where you’re just bored and looking for something to do on a weekend night. Scary stories, beers, cards… very authentic.
You know you are a cynical clown right. I mean guys we found the guy who just after laying his eyes on a masterpiece like monalisa blurts out meh I could have done it way better than Leonardo da Vinci or I could have sculpted David way better than Michaelengelo . And fyi horror tropes like vampires ,werewolves ,ghouls and witches have been a part of european mythology and folklore way before america even existed you clown. ..so what's your point here I mean what are you trying to imply by making such a idiotic assumption about this movie being influenced by america you dumb pos.
I was fully expecting it to be Darragh in a bad wig, giving us Norman Bates insanity..🗡 Nice little flick Lads,Yiss're definitely ones to watch,Good luck with any future projects.🍀
The very last story uses the music theme Also from the movie the shining MMMMM? Do you have to ask Steven king to do that? Are sensi didn't write the song you can use it? It was good
The recording of the song used in our movie was recorded in 1934 so we shouldn't run into any copyright issues. It's not an issue either way as we don't intent on making any money from this.
