How is the shell quality? i got a white one myself i just picked up for dirt cheap and the shell is in pretty good shape but i dont care for the color.
I wonder if any of these sellers on ebay that have sold these things for 15 to 30 bucks thinking that they were broken only for a simple clean to fully restore it, ever found out and was pissed they lowballed themselves. Now obviously im not talking about this ds in the video as it did have a busted top screen but surprisingly there are a lot of these where the only issues are cosmetic damage but the system itself is completely fine being sold for as cheap.
I watched with bated breath as you assembled the PSP, in general I was wondering and I was curious about the assembly of the display, is it the original screen? I'm asking because I bought an IPS screen, and when I assemble the PSP, I have a problem with the D-pad working, specifically the right side and top (it works when I press the button harder). Do you have any ideas what happened?
I have too many passions to start doing this 😂 Can you sell me this? I respect an artist’s price especially when skill is something you spent time and money to perfect so I’m willing to pay a pretty penny.
When tightening anything you should do it evenly. Never fully tighten the left side and then the right side. Each one a little at a time. This will prevent any breaks in the board.
I think that is truly the ultimate DS lite. The one suggestion I have about making the DS lite better would be a USB C charging port. that is an amazing DS.
How does the combo of R4 card and EZ Flash work out? I have been thinking about modifying my DS Lite and using this setup, but was unsure if the EZF is needed with the R4 card.
fortunately im more electronic savvy.. i'm adding an IPS screen.. switching the button layout as my gold PSP is from Japan and i dont like the circle button as input.. so modding it to be the X button.. also i will be removing the UMD drive and adding a larger battery.. no need for the UMD drive as all my games will be on memory card.. waiting on parts.. but will make a vid when it's done.. sucks that you were not able to get it back to 100% i heard the aftermarket cases were pretty bad.. didnt fit right or didnt close properly.. was that the situation for you?
Not a pro eh... Sure do have some pro tools at your disposal there. Much overuse of the forceps and blades. Building the anticipation for the finished build. So you basically bought all new parts, and just built a new device...
I love the better improvements you made and awesome collection of Sony consoles! Finding good rebuildable products are harder to find and I think I will just epoxy the original and make my psp custom 😅
How is the quality of the buttons working? I recently ordered a refurbished DS Lite from AliExpress with this shell, and I wasn't so lucky with how the buttons and D-pad worked.
Nice build! There is a guy who I believe is in Sweden that takes the original game gear boards and and populates new boards with the chip sets from the original. So don't just throw away the old non-working board, that original chip set could have a new life!
