Guitar solos/riffs which include downloadable custom guitar tablature from the best session guitar work from the 80's and 90's ... and solos from other amazing bands and artists during that era as well.
Gotta say this is one of my favorite things about going through someone's old record collection. Especially good Jazz records there's all kinds of stuff from important artists that you will be hard pressed to find on their "discography".
I don't think Marc realizes the magnitude of the impact and legacy he left. I'm so grateful he took time to share all of this with us, as I never expected to hear from him again and have always been curious. I don't blame him from walking away after the way the public reacted to grunge taking away his livelihood. I like grunge, but also 80s melodic metal, you don't have to choose. On Hungry, we are so lucky to have Marc laying down all of those amazing licks and solos using that one-of-a-kind benchmark tone. Today I felt like I got to meet one of my guitar heroes through John. The last part of the conversation is what I was waiting for. How can there only be one pro-shot live song from this group?!? I would pay good money for more live footage!
Talk about an accomplished career! Tony sure has interesting stories aplenty under his sleeve throughout the years. At this point, he should consider writing a full-on autobiography and publishing it by any means necessary. Given the gigantic pool of artists he has worked with throughout the years, I am sure said book would do extremely well across multiple corners of music fans. It certainly has the potential of having a far bigger reach than, say, the Brian Wheat memoir from a few years back. Hopefully it gets out there at some point in the foreseeable future!
Right on! There are so few of us who know & respect HC's work. As I was leaving for work, I felt this unexplained urge that I needed a dose of HC. I pulled my two Shotgun CD's and was listening to/from work today. And now this video? I must be "tuned in" right now.
Another killer album front to back... a good one that's gets ya driving faster than the speed limit before ya know it! Heartbreak Blvd next!? Or some Wildside!?
Great message at the end - just get out and play. Decades ago, my old band director - and professional musician - told us about guys who were doctors and lawyers who would get together and play on a weekend, just for the pleasure of making music. You don't have to get famous for music to be worth your effort. You could play in a community band at Christmas, or play at an open mike night in front of a handful of people.
Man, I'm sooooo happy and thankful to see Marc doing anything publicly again! I ALWAYS hoped we would hear something from him again. I used to worry that he would go the same way as Vito Bratta, which would be equally as tragic. In the end though, if living an anonymous life is what makes Marc, Vito or any of our guitar heroes happy, then God bless. They deserve to be happy. But damn, it's good to see this man and to know that he STILL kicks a$$ and playing better than ever! We love ya Marc!
If you want a compliment, you've earned it, you're great. But to make your lessons more effective, try playing your solos at normal speed with the backing track, then slow it down to a third of the speed and show the tab on screen. This will make it much easier for us to follow along. I know RU-vid has a slow-motion feature, but the sound quality suffers, making it hard to hear the notes clearly. BTW please do also Maggy from the first album 🙂
Thanks Lorenzo! I'm doing full walkthroughs of all the solos on Patreon now, starting at the very first solos I covered on here and going (mostly) in order. I've got two up now and lots more to come! I didn't do membership tiers to keep it as affordable as possible for folks to join if they were interested ($4 per month for everything, always)
So glad you enjoyed it! John is one of the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting/speaking with. Such a talent, such an awesome person.
I've been listening to XYZ from the 80s till right now Aug 2024. Truly Marc Diglio and how he made every song unique and complete, unique rhythm parts, amazing solos, just such a wonderful, wonderful player. ❤
