Hey! I’m rebuilding the same transmission for my 47 Pontiac, And I’ve run into the issue of it kicking out of 2nd gear and I’ve replaced just about everything, do you have any advice?
Hi Fabian: Sorry for the late reply. I hardly ever check my RU-vid channel. Yes, it is extremely tight under the dash, but it is possible to get the panel holding the gauges off if you work at it. The most important thing is getting good illumination under there. I removed the front seat so I could lie on my back with a pillow covering the pedals. The panel is held on by five studs. You can get to each nut with a socket using a U-joint extension. Getting the nuts back on for reassembly is even trickier. But as I say, it can be done. You might want to look at this thread I started on the AACA forums. The forum is a hugely helpful resource for any Buick questions. Here's a link. forums.aaca.org/topic/300994-neils-41-super-model-51/
