Can you use triple thick instead of resin? I want to wrap a pen with this clay mixture so UV resin wouldn’t work (without a cup turner and I don’t want to invest in that for one project 😅)
You say 275* for 25 minutes. How thick are the shapes? My premo says 30 min for every 1/4" so I would think for 1/8" that I half the time? Is that wrong?
Do you mind sharing how thick was was the sheet before cutting it into shapes? What setting did you use in pasta machine. And yes, thank you for the tutorial.
thanx. very helpful. quick question. can i do the same technique for things like making little valentine hearts for valentine’s day, Christmas trees for christmas, to hang on my xmas tree and just some other fun art projects?
wow, you made it look so easy! I watched other tutorial on making fake quartz today, but the process was so long and too complicated for me as a beginner. Super glad I came across this one. I have couple of questions though - what do you use for drilling holes? Also, if I use an alcohol ink instead of acrylic paint, would it work as well?
Hi! I am so happy that the video was helpful and easy to follow for you. ❤️ To answer you questions, I use a Dremel type tool, which is essentially a small handheld drill. And as far as the alcohol inks, YES!! I’ve used them many times for this exact process and they always come out beautiful.
These are so pretty! I'm definitely going to try some swirl earrongs now. :) but E6000 is a terrible glue to use for earrings. It will pull right off! Gorrilla super glue gel is the best I've found.
Hi! Thank you so much for the tutorial. My slab came out really sticky and couldn't get it through the pasta machine. Do you know why would that might be? Also do you let the acrylics to get fried before mixing? Thank you💜
I’m sorry your clay was too sticky! So a few things you can do to help with that in the future. I like to allow my acrylic and liquid clay to partially dry. Another thing I will do if I’m working with a particularly sticky slab, is throw it in the freezer for about 10 mins. This helps to somewhat harden it, so it’s not quite as sticky. It could also be the type of clay you’re using. Cernit translucent is a lot softer than Sculpey Premo or soufflé. I stay away from Sculpey lll because it’s not easy to work with. I hope this helps! 🫶🏻
Out of all the videos I have watched this one helped me so much ! I literally have the same mold and followed you ever step of the way ❤ for your studs, what do you recommend for the holding? (Glue)
