Hi Rosie - I was wondering if you happened to have filmed your class for this quilt pattern. I have had this pattern for awhile and just not sure I can put it together without a visual. Happy Quilting. Theresa
You may end up happier if you try to mark a spot in the seam allowance, at the same place on each of your mirror blocks. Pencil, removable or pigma permanent pen? Put down one of each and match each block to one of them to sort them after confusing yourself? So much fun, all the best.
i love the one where nothing was the same, reminded me of the olden days where quilts were actually made from used fabric and what ever our beloved grands could gather. Love this.
You can make anything with scrappy blocks, from small gifts to huge quilts, or even curtains. 8"×16" is two blocks, add some borders with one or rwo wider ones at top and/or just bottom, to get the shape? Play with them, try contrasts, or get a wide bit for on the top left and lower right? You could use half of a finished block, for each strip, to keep it scrappy? Try one left or centered block and add wide side borders and base? You can put one pocket to halfway up on the right for cutlery, or a flower? What about a napkin too. You could put in a heat shield (for pot mitts,) to save your table, if you won't need to wash it much? See where your mind can take you? No quilt police zone, so have fun. All the best.
That is cool(Baby Boomer talk) I just ordered these templates. I would make a whole quilt with that big star and other pieces in different fabrics and sash each block..
