The late great Betty Carter. Incredible talent and personality. First became aware of her on "SNL" show that was hosted by Richard Pryor. Fell instantly in love with her. Been a big fan ever since.
I heard the radio interview back in the 90s when this recording was made . it was in portland oregon. things got to much for her do to fame and she took a few years off. the motels were doing a come back concert. this is a live recording from that interview. it is good.
