thats what playing the ghost is all about. after breaking if you don’t have a decent shot you take ball in hand then try to run the table out. If you miss the ghost never misses and you lose the game. you can google how to play the ghost to find out more. thx for watching. cheers
thanks for watching. Sun does make a difference. funny thing was I never thought about it as back in the day the cue mostly came out in the night or in dark pool rooms. ha. check out a variety of my other videos. Cheers
Nice! You look quite confident. Question: I am not an expert pool player. Do you ever think your pace of play is too speedy, or does it almost always work for you? My ex-father in law plays quite fast IMO, and he is very good too. I wonder if he would be even better if he slowed down 10% or so. (He also tends to be a bit impatient in life overall, like driving, etc.).
thanks for watching and interesting topic. based on all my competitive matches & money games I’d say I’m just a little above average in speed and do so to not over think or over analyze things as there is so many different ways to make balls and get shape. it’s a double sided sword because sometimes I should’ve taken a little more time. I try to follow speed limits or just under the flow of traffic. yesterday coming home on a freeway I don’t drive much I couldn’t believe how fast some cars were going! on the other hand my 85 yr old dad is about one of the slowest drivers I know! lol. cheers
@@overkillblackjack2910 welcome. And I noticed your name black Jack. I went to Nevada for college and used to play a ton of blackjack. One time I was at the same table for 13 hours. Lol
@@overkillblackjack2910 I too stopped playing about 10 years ago because they changed the odd too much in favor of the casinos. Not like it was 35 years ago. I play video poker once in a while.
when people play the ghost for practice in rotation games like 9 & 10 ball they take ball in hand after the break if they don’t have a shot on the lowest ball in this case was the 1 ball. when playing the ghost you have to clear the table or the ghost (opponent) automatically wins. If I have a decent shot on the low ball after break I don’t take ball in hand. hope that explains & thanks for watching. cheers
and most people don’t know a 9’ table plays 30% longer on average than a 7’ bar box. It’s a big difference. even going from a 8’ to 9’ is a big change.
yes thx my same comment I just told someone else but even tho I knew I was out of line on the shot and should’ve backed out instead of just shooting. lol. ha. cheers
It’s not that you missed the last shot your leave on the last ball pocketed created a much more difficult angle than was necessary on the 10. By following the cue down the rail the ten is longer but straighter
thx for watching. the angle wasn’t bad it was a 3 Diamond spread & across table. I just dogged it. lol. if anything I should’ve either drew the 8 more to create more angle on 9 to come off the rail more or better yet I new I was set up wrong and should’ve stepped out instead of just shoot. cheers
@@tomburns890 All good that’s the best thing about pool for me is the strategy behind a particular shot sequence and how different people view a table lay out. Sometimes you will play a better player and they will execute a sequence you didn’t even see
ya ha! and congrats on your wins! thanks for watching. I just uploaded 4 more 10 ball runouts barefoot lol but on video “part 4” I put my shoes on for one more game b4 I almost missed my tee time. lol. Cheers
thank you & thanks for watching. those break out cluster shots are a must to run out and kinda tricky & random cause it could leave you tough or lock up another few balls. cheers.
Sounds like a bunch of bar table pool shots, lol. How the hell do you stop shot on the six and seven both. He made the right positional shots near the end, he just drew back too far. Next you’ll probably say he “shot it too hard”.
stop shot stop slow slow roll? what’s a stop shot? Lol. stops shots are way too easy I work the cue ball around the table to make things tough on myself when I practice. if you want to my stop shots check out my around the world corner to corner drill and my Fedor Gorst center line videos. and believe it or not that last drill is what put all the chalk on the object balls and cue and that caused that wild skid throw on the 8 ball. have you ever put chalk on the object ball & cue and froze them together to put crazy throw on the balls? thanks for watching. cheers
ya stops shots are too easy and slow rolls are risky. I like to move the cue around the table to make things tough on myself for practice. check out my around the world corner to corner video for some real stop shots or my Fedor Gorst level 3 corner line drill. and btw that was the drill that put all all the chalk on the object balls which we all know when you put chalk in two balls and freeze them together you can create some wild skid & throw. thx for watching & cheers
Use some real chalk...not some crap they use in a bar. Also, throw wasn't your issue there. There was way too much cut on the 8 ball for it to hit the rail like that off the cue. You just hit it slightly too thick. It also helps when you use some low outside.
Lol. have you ever put chalk on 2 balls and then froze them together for a trick shot or to create some wild skid & throw? btw triangle chalk is snooker chalk and been around for 75 years and still used by some of the best players in the world. thx for watching. cheers.
yeah believe it or not. I was practicing the Fedor Gorst level 3 corner line drill b4 this (watch one of my videos on it & didn’t clean my balls they were all chalked up from cueing object balls and I should have shown the cue and 8 ball after to prove my point. You do know that when two balls have chalk on them and they contact on those points the throw is massive right? or that dirty balls throw more than clean balls etc. well that’s what happened I missed the 8 by a mile due to chalk on both balls because a wild throw & missed the 8 by a mile. thanks for watching. cheers
thanks. that kick was also less angle coming into the ball and had less cut induced/spin induced throw let alone bizarre chalk to chalk throw. check out some of my other 1 & 2 rail Efren Reyes style kick videos. cheers.
thank you for your nice comment. And, it’s my custom 1990 Billy Teeter cue. I recently posted a up-close video of it & also have older videos of my equipment, break cue, tips etc. Thanks for watching! Cheers
thanks for watching and yes it’s a replica of the Gold Crown Black. Diamond Tables are what I see in most professional events now but still a lot of old gold crowns in pall halls. cheers
Why has 9 ball become so popular over the last 20 years? I'm not a fan. It's too easy. What would make it interesting is 15 ball lol. 10 ball rules but with 15 balls. 9 balls on a bigger table, is like practice shooting.
actually nine ball was very popular in the 80’s and 90’s cause it was a fast action money game. 10 ball has become popular over that last 30 years and yes it does play harder as usually less balls go on the break and you have to navigate thru more balls on the table in general and there is no slop. like playing the tips on a golf course compared to the men’s tees. I still love 9 ball cause it goes faster fun to practice and play and more action. I have some 10 ball videos you can watch too. thx for watching. Cheers
you mean titles as in how I title my videos? and yes this title was kinda confusing. I used the word tittie in this title. I refer to the side pocket corners as titties. lol.
yes sorry the title was a bit confusing I tried to correct it a little. what happened was I new the 3 was a problem blocked by the tittie and it need to have the perfect angle and forced thru the corner tittie and I hit it so hard and the noise and looking up for shape on the 4 I thought something felt odd but wasn’t sure and it bothered me the whole runout and then viewing the tape I was like wow that is a lot more obvious now watching but in the heat of the hard strike the noise and looking up for shape all I noticed was something didn’t seem right. thx for watching cheers
which one did you go with black or brown Soft Medium? I was an old school La Pro but just too hard so I went to Kamui Brown Medium and made a big difference I needed to get used to. iI might try the black clear soft next to see & feel the difference. thx for watching.
great pool and nice shot on the four to the five small tip on the youtube side of things cause ur better at pool than me. clean the title of the video up alittle it will help audience retention ex. "10 Ball Run-Out" in the description put all the other stuff u wanna say without making it cluttered.
thx for the nice comment and thanks for watching and yea the title was a bit confusing I tried to correct it a little. what happened was I new the 3 was a problem blocked by the tittie and it need to have the perfect angle and forced thru the edge and I hit it so hard and the noise and looking up for shape on the 4 I thought something felt odd but wasn’t sure and it bothered me the whole rack but I still ran the whole rack out and then viewing the tape I was like wow that is a lot more obvious now watching but in the heat of the hard strike the noise and looking up for shape all I noticed was something didn’t feel right. cheers
studies have shown that a side break on 9 ball helps pocket the 1 ball in the side pocket and the wing ball in the corner. getting shape on the lowest ball is key! with 10 ball it’s not as predictable and most pros have the best outcome with a center box cue on the break. for me I get the most control just off center. I’ve seen a few pros try the side on 10 ball maybe because they’re so comfortable from that spot. thx for watching. cheers
ya Lol. 4.5” are nothing like some 5”+ five gallon buckets on 9’ tables I played compared to some 3-7/8” tight ass ones. Or when I used to practice 9 ball on a 6x12’ snooker table with American balls 30 years ago and the balls barely fit & seem like a soccer field to a mouse hole. I quit comp play at 23 as a top player and just started playing again. Cheers.
And for the record you say "do that on a UK one". My 9' American table plays 28.57% longer than a 7' UK table and 50% longer than a UK 6' table. And, American balls are 12.5% larger than UK. Yes American pockets are bigger but they also have sharp corners not like rounded UK tables. So, how much tougher do UK tables actually play? Just facts no hate. Cheers
thank you for the kind comment and watching. I was surprised at how well the tip plays without chalking I must have played 5 or 6 racks without racking. old school hard La Pro nothing like the new Kamui Brown Soft. cheers
even funnier is out of 1800 views your only the 2nd to make the comment. hope you enjoyed the runout and thanks for watching. check out my other runs and tricks & tough shot videos. cheers
my biggest issue is getting shape on the low ball after the break to keep the runouts going. my best 31 years ago was 6.5 racks in a row in a tournament. shape on the break is the biggest key for my game
thank you and thx for watching. making balls and getting shape is the game. my biggest issue is getting shape after the break to keep the multiple runouts going. my best is 6.5 racks in row hoping to beat that soon. Cheers
LOL. Yes, watch the red wing ball slam into the corner pocket on the break & then also notice there is no red ball on the table the 5 is orange which was pocketed after the purple 4.
thank you for your kind comment and watching. I’m definitely wiser & smarter now than in my prime 30 years ago when I quit but my eyes were better then ha. cheers
Hi, would you mind going through the basics of stance and how you have your arm holding the cue in line with the shot you playing, maybe like tips on how it should feel and where your head should be. I feel like my setup is wrong and dont have a good routine.
Hi Billy thx for watching. unfortunately I’m not really the one to ask because I learned what worked best for me from 1000’s of hours of play & practice & I’m more of a feel player on both mechanics & rail kicks & banks I never used the Diamond system until starting to learn it a few months ago after starting to play again after quitting 30 years ago as a top playing in my prime at 24. I will say I definitely try to stand solid and very balance as if nobody can push me over when I’m set I try to apply weight down on the table with my bridge hand for even more stability but have my body and grip hand and arm all stay lose and breath and relax and stay focused if something is off step out and refocus and step in. I’m sure there are plenty of set up stance instructional videos but always remember everyone is different weight height build etc etc. hope that helps some and thx for watching. Cheers
@@user-fr8lw8ot9oit’s a rotation game but with no slop ins like you can have in 9 ball as you have to call your pocket. 10 ball also is harder because less balls are usually made on the break meaning their is more balls to run and navigate between & around to get shape on the next lowest ball. 1 is racked in the front and 10 in the middle and 2 & 3 ball bottom right & left. I have a video of 10 ball if you want to check it out. Actually it’s not an instructional video which you can’t find everywhere just me running a 10 ball rack. Thx for watching
