Victor -- Thanks for sharing this great idea of replacing the LaserJet EIO mechanical hard disk (now pushing 20+ years in age) with CompactFlash by using a 44-pin to CF adapter. Since this comment is now six years later than when you released the video, let me add a couple of things since I've just successfully done this with one of my LaserJet 4050 printers. 1. The 44-pin to CF adapter I purchased from Amazon did not require any modification or filing off of pin projections to fit the EIO board. In fact, none of the adapters I've seen recently has the pins extending much at all from the bottom of the adapter, so perhaps yours was just different. 2. The CompactFlash card I initially purchased, a 1 GB Transcend 133 CompactFlash, did NOT work in the LaserJet. It always gave an 'EIO disk not functional' error, regardless of initialization or ensuring that the board was well seated in the printer. The card worked fine in a card reader and could be formatted, read from, and written to. Since I realize that you used an earlier version of this same Transcend card, that puzzled me. It turns out that Transcend has changed the firmware in their CompactFlash cards. The normal 'consumer' cards are hard-coded to be identified by the EIO disk controller as removable storage. The slightly more expensive 'Industrial' cards are hard-coded to be identified by the EIO disk controller as fixed-disk storage. The LaserJet requires that the card identify as 'fixed disk' or it will not be used. Apparently, older cards (both from Transcend and other companies) used to allow this setting to be changed through software that was released to the public. Maybe the card you were using had this setting changed, but of course I don't know. In any case, I obtained that software and attempted to change the firmware setting on the 'consumer' card I had, but unfortunately was unsuccessful. So, I purchased a 1 GB Transcend Ultra Industrial card and it worked the first time without problem. For those asking what the use of a LaserJet hard drive would be -- I use it to store both PostScript and TrueType fonts on the printer itself, along with complicated PCL macros and forms. These 'resources' can then be called from software without having to download them with each job. This is primarily of use for those of us who use custom business software. TLDR -- Buy a Transcend 'INDUSTRIAL' CompactFlash, not the normal consumer-level card.

My first printer ever!! I have this exact printer! And it’s without a N or TN version like yours! Mine comes from Germany and I got it for free from my parents as they had this printer before! Awesome video!!

You're overcomplicating this... A good indicator that you've done a hard shutdown is power indicator coming off after several seconds rather than instantaneously. Also, the battery will still drain when it is off because the battery powers the time/date settings.

Dacă ar fi să spun care a fost cea mai frumoasă perioadă a vieții mele, aceasta ar fi, cei trei ani și jumătate petrecuți cu această formație, înainte de a mă căsatori și pleca la Sibiu. Încă o precizare, repertoriul ales pentru înregistrări de fratele Mocuța și muzicalitatea atinsă de această formație fără profesioniștii de azi, este cea mai mare minune pe care am trăit-o de-a lungul vieţii...! Fratii insoteau pe fratele Liviu Olah, care a fost invitat si dorit o perioada mai lunga de timp, intr-una din zilele de peste saptamana... Intalnirile aveau loc cred pe Str. Dambovitei, intr-o constructie, devenita dupa revolutie, Biserica Baptista Golgota... Greu de descris minunea cand ascultai aceste cantari! Slava Domnului pentru acele vremuri de mari treziri spirituale!
thats normal for a psp even when its completely shut down. but it normally it should hold the charge about 2-3 weeks.. or even a month ( my two psp do that) otherwise a bad battery is the problem.

Am avut harul sa cant in acest cor acum mai bine de 35 de ani alaturi de fratii mei iubiti de Domnul.Am colindat intreaga tara si Europa ,Ucraina,Republica Moldova ducand Vestea Buna prin cantare .Am avut dirijori binecuvantati de Domnul cu un talent deosebit(fr.Mocuta,fr.Pentea) Domnul sa trezeasca poporul Lui!
Is it just me or what, I just bought a used psp 3004 that was hacked and I get about 1 and a half until it drains to 50 percent than the whole thing dies in about 20 min the dude said the battery is new so it needs to be charged a few times until it starts working properly. Someone help pls, sounds like bullshit to me at least
