Hi! My name is 'Guy' You'll find Green Day covers here, where I combine 2 guitars and a bass in one video. Using BJA's signature guitars or Green Day related gear!
Buzzing to find this page mate great covers with the guitar I wanted to see been played! Would you still recommend this (assuming it’s the 2006/2010 run?) would you say these still viable or get the 2023 one?
Recommend this guitar? Absolutely! That run of guitars (2006/2010) had such an amazing pickup, the 'H90' (or P100) which is a double stacked P90. It's still not a humbucker as it tries to remain that punchy P90 sound. But it has more beef and more output. And GOD I LOVED IT! I really don't like playing single coil guitars and I am not a huge fan of P90's either (depends on the guitar). But the sound of this pickup was SO GOOD. Those pickups were only made for that run and the DC in 2012 if I remember right. The newer models have more regular P90s which are also meant to be humcancelling, they definitely sound more thin to me compared to the H90. But I guess the idea of the pickups in the new guitar is to reach the more vintage P90 sound. But man that H90 sounded so great. You could get that punchy Green Day tone by not using too much gain on the amp and it would sound so close! I could talk for hours about that pickup and that guitar, sadly I don't have these anymore since my own band kicked off and I play humbucker Gibsons with a stop-tail. So Gibson LP Juniors aren't in my collection anymore sadly. But I would still absolutely recommend the Gibson BJA LP Jr run from 2006/2010!
Hey man! If my memory serves me right: From 0-10 - Gain: 5-6 - Middle: 7 - Bass: 6-7 - Treble: 8 Also: try to play as loud as you can! Volume is kind of important here as lower volumes bring more fizz/mud into the sound that doesn't really suit this kind of tone (imo) Having a punchy sound does the job, it's about trying not to touch the gain too much. 5-6 might be a bit too much even. The more Gain there is, the more saturated it might sound instead of punchy. At least in my experience :) When you think the not-too-gainy sound starts getting there, try different positions for the Treble. I feel like the cab/speaker desides where the Treble should go. I use an Orange cab and felt that I needed slightly more Treble than on my 1936 Marshall cab to achieve the sound I used in this video. Hope this helps! :)
I uses the DSL40, I think I used the ultra gain channel but really not that gain-y. Then added a tube screamer for boost. It was either that or I used my Dookie Drive pedal on the Marshall :)
dude you should post more i love how your entire channel is green day! they’re my favorite band if you couldn’t tell by my profile picture lol. but you should post more content man!
Hey man! Thank you SO much for your kind comments! They're one of my favourite bands as well, I even have a nimrod tattoo on my leg! :) I stopped making videos for youtube since my own band got pretty serious a while ago (recording our album and playing gigs) and sadly I sold a lot of 'Green Day gear' for new gear for my band! I just have the BJA Telecaster and Mike Dirnt bass when it comes to signature gear. It would be nice to find the time and space to shoot a couple more videos but I don't see it happening any time soon :/ All my creative time goes to my band but who knows! Maybe with new Green Day songs! :)
@@GuyDeclerck that’s awesome nice to hear man!! i was thinking of getting a green day tattoo as well. what’s the name of your band i’d love to check it out!! do you post music anywhere?
Here's the lyrics: Do you have the time to listen to me whine About nothing and everything all at once? I am one of those Melodramatic fools Neurotic to the bone No doubt about it Sometimes I give myself the creeps Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me It all keeps adding up I think I'm cracking up Am I just paranoid Or am I just stoned? I went to a shrink To analyze my dreams She says it's lack of sex that's bringing me down I went to a whore He said my life's a bore So quit my whining 'cause it's bringing her down Sometimes I give myself the creeps Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me It all keeps adding up I think I'm cracking up Am I just paranoid? Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah Grasping to control So I better hold on Sometimes I give myself the creeps Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me It all keeps adding up I think I'm cracking up Am I just paranoid? Or am I just stoned?
dude, That electric guitar and acoustic blend each other on the chorus was amazing! that acoustic guitar looks exactly like the one that Billie used it on the music video. Nice job by the way.
