Welcome to David Magill's Channel.

•New videos every Sunday at 12:00PM EST•

This channel includes videos of trains in various locations around the county and also my model railroad which is the "Freelance" Cumberland Division HO Scale layout based loosely on the Chessie System and early CSX. Originally, I modeled the New Haven Railroad but wanted to do something a little different.

Do you have any other videos of ttse I’m making a layout modeling part of the Hudson line including the gm plant and was trying to find some videos of the trains that ran there

I have used all three divisions, at least once, when I lived in the lower Hudson valley.

This is a familar sight. I grew up in Staatsburg and that building on the left was literally at the end of my street. I have lots of 8 mm films from the late 70s/early 80s going through Staatsburg.

The bridge is fantastic. Great detail with the utility lines. Nice work with the filming with some of the shots felt like a railfan trackside. Great job.

@02:56 Love the C&O boxcar. @04:12 Love the NYC boxcar. Downtown area looks great too. AA++ on the Poughkeepsie bridge, a true work of art. Tons & tons of structures and small details is a sensory overload of eye candy, I know you put a ton of time and effort (and $$$) into all of that. @14:00 Love that bridge too. It seems your operational aspect is spot on and only some minor terrain/detailing still needs to be done but I am watching this 7 years after the fact LOL. I am just in awe about the number and sizes of the structures you have used, "We're not in Kansas anymore"

Fantastic video of a unique part of American railroading history! :D I was just wondering, would it be possible for me to use this footage as part of an upcoming documentary I'm creating about the history of the Budd Metroliner?

Your model depiction of the Poughkeepsie side of the bridge is quite well done. The selective compression of the bridge itself is very good. I live near Newtown and I have rail fanned the line many times over the years. Thanks for sharing your layout with us.

I live on East Main in Beacon right now, about a minute's walk from that first crossing with the dummy light. Wild to imagine those tracks being active

Wow, what a great model - congratulations! The bridge is fabulous, too! I’ve been interested in the L&HR and the Maybrook/Poughkeepsie Bridge plays a big part in that story. I am really impressed with the fortitude required to string those electric lines and I’m curious if they get in the way of operations? Thanks for the inspiration!

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤🚂 they're one of his favorite things in the whole world 🌎. He says that at several places on the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad it looks like it was once double tracked and if it was he thinks it should be rebuilt and used again. He also would appreciate it if Genesee and Wyoming railroads would not all have the same colors for their railroads to have more diversity.

Seeing the old Poughkeepsie billboard, makes me wish I could revisit Poughkeepsie in the 60s and 70s, I do remember coming down DeGarmo road from school and seeing the smoke from the bridge fire in 74
