I would have to disagree. Have you ever listened to Chet's arrangements? With these guys it's fingerpicking the head and then single note soloing. Chet did much more in his treatment of these tunes. But why compare anyway?

To me, the bassline from Richard did not sound as natural as that of Tommy's. My 2 cent. But great players and a great session.

What a great rendition of Blue Moon...never even liked it before...now I love it but only Tommy's arrangement. As for I Go To Rio...it's my very favotite by him...could listen to it all day long, that's how much I love it! Without a doubt the BEST guitarist in the world...period!

You are probably right- and it does make me think that there is no current player who can match Chet's musicality playing guitar 'ballads' -Not even the legendary Tommy Emmanuel who does come a close second when harmonics are a dominant feature in a particular piece. Sorry to perpetuate the 'who's-better-than-who issue which I dislike. Please -all, just enjoy the music!
