The Videomic NTG can be connected via USB direct, no need to convert analogue to digital, then back to analogue to be converted back into digital again :) Get a USB-C to USB-C cable and you are good to go.

This might be exactly what im looking for. H9w versarile is rhis setup? Is there any way of plugging this mic into a DSLR or PC also?

You don’t know what you talking about sorry but this is misinformation. To do field recording you need an omnidirectional mic not a shotgun ….shotgun are goid only for interviews or pointing at something directly.

This was super helpful, exactly what I needed. How do you like the mic for nature recording? I'm just getting started with nature sounds and have been researching different types of mics.

Very nice, thank you. I been seeing many videos suggesting digital recorders that are around 150 USD and totally external from the mobile phones, which sounded weird to me. We got this powerful device with us all the time (the mobile phone) and we need to carry another one?

Cant we record video and sound together? Actually I want to record video with high quality sound of nature around. Do I need two phones , one for recording audio and other for video?

A good option is to use an older phone with a dual or quad dac and 3.5mm port to remove the need for an adapter. Any recording software you need to run can be used on that. Lgv20/v40 are good.

Thank you for sharing. It's sometimes difficult to find anything on Field Recording using an iPhone. This is straight forward. I recently bought a Tascam Portacapture X8 and testing it out with my iPhone. I'm new to this but this is a different level and new world hobby for me. Please continue to post new work to motivate others!

Thanks a lot for sharing your setup. I always postponed buying field recording material and just recently realized I could use my phone to lower the extra price. So it's exactly what I was looking for. I'm just worried about the "usb-c to jack" adapter. Since it has to embed a soundcard, it is not obvious if I'll end up with a low quality sound or not. cheers :)
@auxiliary_sound
@auxiliary_sound 2 года назад
Sound quality should be fine since the Rode Videomic NTG uses an internal preamp/soundcard to process the audio.

That stream recording sound is so crisp, top-notch! So you're using Cubasis? What's your setup on your app? Thanks
@auxiliary_sound
@auxiliary_sound 2 года назад
Hi! Setup is is really simple. I'm not using any effects on my input chain. I'm just making sure that I set the right gain levels depending on what sound i'm recording :)
