I do not recommend the movies at all. Not only because it’s a hard watch but it’s the fact that in the films they purposely sexualize many of the actions of the Dolores when the point of the book was too call out the fact that she just acts like a child it’s wrong and messed up to sexualize these non sexual actions.
It kinda how humbert sees it all. Just like the books he's such a unreliable narrative point. And he makes you think it's this way. The point is to make you semi sympathetic towards his "plight"
@@theveganflower5135 exactly. both the book and movie are based on the perception of Dolores that HH sees her in. that's why both are extremely disturbing because it's from a sick mind. in the movies, however, you get a rare sight of Dolores out of his view.
