I also have the fragrance in the original black packaging. When the packaging changed so did the scent. Has a lot more synthetics in it now. The original is a gorgeous fragrance. I never liked the hinged cap bottle though, as it makes it very, very hard to control where you spray.

Good to see you reviewing again. I watched you 5 years ago when first started collecting. You often review great fragrances that have been around for a while, that received little hype. Like I discovered "Lauder for Men" vintage from your RU-vid. The best cold weather Pine fragrance. I also discovered Italian Cypress from you, another favorite. I purchased the original last week for my 29th birthday as it was my late grandfather’s signature frag..took me right back to my childhood when I would get a whiff of that stuff every time I was close to him..this is a classic, and it may very well become my new signature fragrance. After an hour of spaying, it almost literally turns into Patchouli heaven. I’ll probably cry if Givenchy stops producing it .. the Gentlemen Only I also enjoy, but longevity is weak.

To me Musc Ravageur is perfectly unisex, and it's kind of weird, but I know several women how like to wear Terre d'Hermes. :) My selection would be (although I rarely use ultra masculine fragrances): Halston Z-14, vintage. Loewe pour homme. Quorum.
