Fake plants - There’s a dryness In the cards that I’m laying out of reach Like the fence in my backyard I am struggling to breathe Summers coming in with lemon drop skin to castles of fake plants at the beach Wither Wither Wither spoke the weather in the south To soak up the water I plant a record in my mouth Hum with the wind until my can begins to bend and Tonic rain falls on my couch I loved you my dearest mistake But desperately quiet we just slipped away and the smallest things resolved us to fight At least my fake plants won’t die In many ways I’d consider it a failure, if we tried to lead a new life by the beach Ignore the dirt that’s clouding up the mirror, and outsource our love to the seas But if that’s not real, it’s not coming up clear.
