Australia has been on my bucket list like forever. It's moved up even more because of the love for cycling you show and the efforts you make for making cycling enjoyable. It will stay a dream probably - I just should have relocated like 40 years ago 😀Anyway, from BE, I love to see you Aussies getting more and more into the sport of cycling, nice champions you have there. And maybe sometime, I might get a 'summer house' out there ... here's hoping ...
Looks like an amazing loop Rob. I’ve been thinking about riding there but I think you just convinced me after watching that descent. Thanks for the insight on Akuna Bay!
Great content mate, delivered differently to others. Started riding end of march, had a bike given too me which was too big but dealt with it. Looked at bikes for 6 months to get as my first. Was looking at the strattos but getting a bike off the net is risky size wise having no knowledge as I do. Bought a Giant Defy A2 2 weeks ago, felt amazing straight away, and going by this video it was definetly the right choice.
Don’t get me wrong: there’s plenty to like about the Polygon bike. Early impressions are interesting to capture and explain but they can develop and even change after the adjustment period. Still, the Giant is likely to be a good solution. Thanks for your comment. - Rob
Another very watchable video Rob. One of the concerns I have as a retired person is the expense of many of the items you use. For me, I’d argue that these are not attainable, not sure if others agree. Is this symptomatic of where the cycling industry is these days? Might be something worth having a rant about.
I bought Carbon rims from CSC for 300 EUR from Aliexpress and i am very happy with them(because of safety reasons i only drive hooked rims). AAnd to me Conti GP5000 are the best tyres
Hey Rob. Another amazing vid mate. Really loved this one. Beautiful surroundings and great soundtrack. You have inspired me to drive to a ride location too. New bike day for me this weekend and I am so looking forward to it. Thanks for posting and keep up the awesomeness 👍🏼👍🏼 -VC
The Cinelli brand holds a very dear spot in my cycling history. Its a different company these days as most production has moved to Taiwan. Cinelli invented the original Bar/Stem combination in the early 1990s in titanium ridden by Claudio "El Diablo" Chiappuchi. The RAM followed in Carbon Fiber in the early 2000s....What are the dimensions on your Bar/Stem combo?? Nice scenery indeed! Pjw
Cool video. Recently purchased an Emonda SLR (2019). Specs say limited to 25mm but I've seen at least one video with 32mm. Going to try 30mm which should fit.
Phil and Paul - no better ambassadors for cycling worldwide - Impressive and I had the pleasure of meeting Phil many years ago -thank you so much for your work - all the best to you and your family
Hey Rob - hope you're well :-) We met briefly at the 'gong worlds - I'm thinking of getting the FIM 9.9 as a road racing all-rounder. I tend to be between M and L in a lot of cycling stuff. My current set up is saddle height of 75.5cm BB to top of seat and 59cm tip of seat to centre of head stem clamp. Can you give me any guidance on bike size for the FIM? Cheers Dave
Ok, I was on the fence on buying the bars. I have to thank you. I thought the same thing…Star Wars Bars! I have a Moots RCS with Enve carbon gravel bars (44cm flare to 50cm) which make my hands numb in record time. Shame since this bike is such a great long distance bike. Anyway, you convinced me to try these bars. Holy SMOKES! What a difference. They look sort of futuristic still, but you CAN’T beat the comfort!!! The swept back on the tops, the finger notch on the lowers, and the positioning of the hoods…Spectacular! Thanks for ridemedia…I have also bought a Kask Protone Icon…Great helmet, and I have about 4 others. Keep up the good work.
