Off Ball Lax is all about helping coaches, players, parents, fans, and more get another perspective. This RU-vid channel is dedicated to providing coaches and players unique or innovative ways to build their lacrosse abilities. This could be DIY projects or simple quick fixes. All in the name of giving everyone another perspective on lacrosse. Hi, Impact
Not sure what your question is? In the video I have the hooks just attached to the bounceback net. I think their purpose is more to keep the "look", keeping the tarp edges attached to the rebounder netting.
Yes hydrophobic. Think of it this way, the mesh is deathly afraid water. The molecules can’t absorb any extra h2o so it’s basically resistant. Water won’t get into the pores of the mesh like other different mesh types…. Always been a soft mesh break my own pocket in type of guy
When I started freshman year of high school, i was the tallest kid on our team. My coach made me play defense. I asked, what do I do coach?" He said, "if this kid gets the ball, break his fuckin arms!!" I fell in love.
I am starting my 5 season my coach is letting our team tryout for different passion what passion should I play I have a lot of experience in offense but also defense I used to play attack my goal average was 3 a game but I’m fast but run out of stamina quarter of the time: what position should I play?
Outlaws shoulda Gone w Dyson w. 11 or trade up from 19-16 …prolly Ryan smith buying another sports team in Utah he’s got the jazz coyotes then….i can’t believe Cormier didn’t get drafted mind blowing how deep this offensive draft was…did Nassau not go either? we need a cait Clark or something insane to grow 🥍 faster. Five yrs of PLL hope viewership goes up in next five Oneil will be better in the pros for sure Dino runs a 6 man full offense unselfish Princeton
Thanks for this video. Definitely cleared up a bunch of things for me as a longtime fan who never played. Did not know about the difference between offensive offside (turn ball over) v. defensive offside = flag. Does the team need to send that offside player to the penalty box? Two more questions. Can you explain more about the significance of the 1/3 lines at front and back? Once they cross into offensive 1/3rd the shot clock starts right? Or is it past the mid-line? Offside relates to the offensive v. defensive half of the field (over the mid-line). Are there specific names for the lines? In soccer we call it inside the 6, 18 yd line for example.
I've had two flip goalies at every practice for the last couple seasons. Perfect for practice drills when we don't have multiple goalies at practice. My guys love razzing each other when Hector or Vector make a save against their teammates.
I've looked but unfortunately I have not found any videos :( You use the marbling/webbing spray before you add a color. It will coat the surface and leave a little of whatever color is under it showing.
This video I used lacrosse.sharetheplay.com I'm not sure if there is a lot of support behind it. It's pretty basic and I couldn't really save anything. However, I've recently joined up with LacrosseLab.com/OFFBALLLAX This is a more comprehensive tool that can save your plays, share them with your team, and manage basic team communication. Not trying to make this so sales pitchy...but its the one service I've been using lately and used in my last video about the 10 man ride ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Rw0lvJxTK3I.html I'm guessing there are other tools out there but this is what I've used so far!
Great video. My son is making this his primary sport and is tall fast and strong at 13. His older brother played hockey who was a forward and smaller and craftier so throw in some ice hockey positions too. Respect
I just got done with a game and i kinda thought i needed some team colors on my head but my head is black so do you know if it has to be white to dye it?
@@user-mq1wb8em6u Unfortunately to add colors yes you need to start with a White head. You definitely don't NEED to color match your head with your team but its a cool addition if you want. But in this case unfortunately you would need a new head.
Oooooh this is a good one. I would say a setter makes a lot of sense at an offensive position. I think of a player that has good vision and pretty quick/athletic. This blend with quick hands would be good setting up the offense. The key here is making the transition to the stick. No shortcuts here, just need to get working on the wall practicing passing and catching as much as possible. I learn towards an Attack position first but could definitely see a midfielder.
You could. You will see all kinds of cleats in lacrosse, my greatest recommendation here would be get cleats with ankle support (usually shoe goes above the ankle) and allows for lateral cuts. Each athlete is different, but find what works.
Oh no! Are you just constantly getting numbers? I was getting that when I had an electronic device nearby (ie. cell phone). Do you have something that could be interfering with it?
Tough one first...gear. I kinda steer clear of the gear game because its very unique to player preference and brand loyalty. Stick with ECD, Warrior, STX and you can't go wrong. Speed with lower stamina usually points to more of an Attack position. Assuming you have interest in offense. Quick burst of speed are great for dodging and getting around your man for a chance to shoot. Biggest need is the stick skills. You cannot play on Attack and not handle the ball in your stick. Lots of wall ball work here will be your best friend!
Was a 2 way lineman in Football plus Fullback and Linebacker , Forward in Hoops, did track instead of lacrosse in HS starting to get into the game wonder if Defense would be a good position for me joining an adult league
I agree you are on the right track. When you say adult league, I read, less time to spend on pure stick skill development. Defenders are the ones that generally handle the ball less than all other players so catching and throwing is less important (still a skill needed on the field though). The most important thing you need is footwork and keeping your body in the right position. Basketball is such a great compliment sport to lacrosse and your defensive principles are almost all the same!
Stick skills, stick skills, stick skills. This game has a great equalizer and its the stick. You can be the greatest athlete in the world but if you can't handle a stick its hard for you to be on the field. Get working on a wall and ensure your passing and catching is a strength. On offense you don't have to be "fast" if you can anticipate well. Know what is going to happen before it happens and you'll be in the right place. I wasn't fast, but found my niche by predicting deflections and defensive movement. I think Offense makes sense for you but the stick skills need to be a priority.
